Title: So what have you given up for Lent?
Post by: Old Tider on March 15, 2011, 09:46:39 AM
This year I decided to give up Lent. If pressured, high on my list are:

TS
Brussels sprouts
articles about Auburn

I'm religious, but not religious enough to give up the three c's

coffee
chocolate
cheesecake

A wise man once told me, "Let it go."

Not catholic, so I'm not doing anything BUT the hubby has cracked down on my Diet Mtn Dew addiction consumption and I'm having to make a 2 liter last every 3 days.  I'm glad he's helping me because it was getting out of control.  My kidneys were weeping and pleading for mercy.

The DMD looks like a mutagen sittin' there all greeny and glowy in the glass.  I sit there and think no self respecting human would put that down their gullet but then there I am downing 2L a day.  I must have a secret death wish.  I could probably watch SupersizeMe and then get hongray for my first big mac.

Hmmmm....  was this "giving up" decision supposed to have already been made?
I gave up work for 2 1/2 days- does that count?

You guys made me think.
If I give up Diet Mt Dew no one will want to be around me...
If I give up TV no one will notice except when Idol is on...
Chocolate- I'm not sure I'm that strong.

That would be a good thing to give up- especially those that do it while driving/sitting at the redlight next to me...

If they'll stop that I'll stop gagging and giving them 'those' looks.

Well, there's only the one red light, so maybe they can hold off just a little longer until they get home.

Laughing..  no one really stops at that redlight..  everyone knows to go around the block on either side so you can turn right if it's red.  (duh - lol)

I meant the ppl I pass on the way to work in Tuscaloosa.

True story. I was leaving work the other day and saw two ladies walking out with the ash smudge on their forehead. I was about to point this out to them so they could go and wash it off (thinking that it was on accident) until I realized that it was Lent. I shut up quickly and saved myself public embarrassment.  :-[

By the way, I gave up my sanity (due to being around family for my son's b'day party) :pullhair:
