Hours after Tyler Buchner announced he’d be entering the transfer portal, the junior quarterback has reportedly set a visit to Alabama. According to multiple reports, Buchner’s first stop as he evaluates potential schools will be with the Crimson Tide. Buchner was offered by Alabama when he was a four-star prospect in the class of 2021 and has ties to current offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, who recruited Buchner to South Bend, Indiana. John Brice of footballscoop.com tweeted Buchner may be in Tuscaloosa “as soon as (Tuesday) night.” ... I also don't know what to think about the QB talent we already have. We offered Buchner in the 2021 class so CNS saw something then, so maybe now, coach thinks he is a better talent than what we have now. We've needed them because our D wasn't particularly stellar. I didn't get to watch much of the A Day game, but the D looked pretty good, at least the first tier players.
We may not need more than a Jake Coker or Blake Barnett to take it all this year. At any rate, this was only spring ball. We'll know more in the fall. If that involves a new QB, that's ok with me.
