Title: Movies Post by: BamaBratt on March 15, 2011, 08:18:31 AM Discuss here. I love movies and am always looking for reviews.
Saw "Rango" interesting movie. The kids will definitely miss some of the humor. Title: Re: Movies Post by: BAMAWV on March 15, 2011, 08:29:39 AM "Old Yeller" was funny.

Title: Re: Movies Post by: Allie on March 15, 2011, 11:01:45 AM Billy B.Thornton is always good for a laugh,as in Bad News Bears,Bad Santa I watched Faster over the weekend with him and The Rock... ehhhhh .... not so good. Title: Re: Movies Post by: N.AL-Tider on March 15, 2011, 12:11:34 PM Has anyone seen the new "True Grit" movie yet? I wanted to see it but never did. What are your thoughts?

Title: Re: Movies Post by: BamaBratt on March 15, 2011, 06:27:53 PM Has anyone seen the new "True Grit" movie yet? I wanted to see it but never did. What are your thoughts? You will not regret seeing it. I realize this may be sacrilegious to some but I thought Bridges turned out a performance as good as the Duke's. The girl stole the movie though. Title: Re: Movies Post by: BAMAWV on March 16, 2011, 04:47:07 AM "Smokin' Cheerleaders III" is a classic.
Title: Re: Movies Post by: Terrie1959 on March 16, 2011, 07:08:13 AM Billy B.Thornton is always good for a laugh,as in Bad News Bears,Bad Santa I watched Faster over the weekend with him and The Rock... ehhhhh .... not so good. I'm thinking of taking the kids to see a movie today. Prolly gonna leave as soon as my dad brings me whatever it is he wants me to take back to Lowe's. I rented Faster last week. I wasn't impressed at all. I really like Dwayne (The Rock) but not this movie. Title: Re: Movies Post by: Terrie1959 on March 16, 2011, 07:10:35 AM some of the older movies I really like

I was a tad slow but caught on to what was going on. Anyone read the book?
Title: Re: Movies Post by: 2Stater on March 20, 2011, 07:08:46 AM "Book of Eli" was great IMO. Some of my favorites are:
Sargeant York Field of Dreams Man on Fire Coming to America The Great Outdoors Home Alone The Hangover The Caine Mutiny Anything with The Duke in it. Title: Re: Movies Post by: Allie on March 20, 2011, 01:50:25 PM Fav's :
The Big Easy Sweet Home Alabama The Big Chill An Officer and a Gentleman The Last American Virgin Grease Steel Magnolia's All girl flicks... I know. I also like 'guy' movies but none of them are jumping to my mind as a fav. I hate Disney movies. They make me cry. I'd usually rather read than watch a movie. Title: Re: Movies Post by: XBAMA on March 20, 2011, 02:17:16 PM in no certain order movies I'll watch if they are on .

Midnight Cowboy- Jon Voight Title: Re: Movies Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 20, 2011, 05:54:26 PM I like pretty much anything with Clint Eastwood, especially the westerns. Gran Torino was great and probably his last in front of the camera.
October Sky is a hidden gem if you haven't seen it (not Clint Eastwood). It came out about 10 years ago. Title: Re: Movies Post by: Allie on March 20, 2011, 06:43:45 PM I cried with Gran Torino..
My son thinks its hilarious that I cry during "The Outlaw Josie Wales." The Indian and his one piece of hard rock candy "that ain't for eatin, just for lookin thru" gets to me every time... Bratt- Let's go see a movie and we'll give a review. :-) Title: Re: Movies Post by: ricky023 on March 20, 2011, 06:45:25 PM Live or Let Die. James Bond. lol, RTR!

I cry because he's old and hungry and all he has is one piece of hard rock candy.... Are you laughing at me??? Title: Re: Movies Post by: 2Stater on March 20, 2011, 08:03:13 PM Gran Torino was awesome. Jimmy Bond movies are terrific. Most people like Sean Connery over Roger Moore, but I thought RM was better.
Title: Re: Movies Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 20, 2011, 08:06:31 PM I cry because he's old and hungry and all he has is one piece of hard rock candy.... Are you laughing at me??? I loved that guy. I like the part about how he would never give up, but they made his horse surrender and now he is pulling a plow in Kansas, or something like that. I may have to break out the DVD after while. Title: Re: Movies Post by: Allie on March 20, 2011, 09:32:47 PM I cry because he's old and hungry and all he has is one piece of hard rock candy.... Are you laughing at me??? I loved that guy. Break out the kleenex too! Title: Re: Movies Post by: Old Tider on March 21, 2011, 12:15:02 PM "Casablanca" because of the great lines. Like Bogart's deadpan comment: "He's like any other man, only more so."
Title: Re: Movies Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 21, 2011, 01:10:17 PM Have you seen this smiley? It is on the more page.

It's really packed with critters. Title: Re: Movies Post by: BamaBratt on March 21, 2011, 03:01:27 PM Have you seen this smiley? Title: Re: Movies Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 21, 2011, 03:08:28 PM Are you clicking the "more" link with your finger? Maybe it isn't taking the click. Do you have a stylus you could try to click with?
Title: Re: Movies Post by: BamaBratt on March 21, 2011, 04:32:14 PM Are you clicking the "more" link with your finger? Maybe it isn't taking the click. Do you have a stylus you could try to click with? It's not meant for a stylus, I'll give it another try later tonight. Title: Re: Movies Post by: BamaBratt on March 21, 2011, 04:36:00 PM Has anyone seen "I Am Number Four"?
Title: Re: Movies Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 21, 2011, 04:36:41 PM The only thing I could think of would be if it didn't register the click. Oh wait a minute... it does come up in a secondary popup window. I wonder if that is the problem.
Title: Re: Movies Post by: ricky023 on March 21, 2011, 05:03:36 PM Sounds like me, a secondary pop-up. lol, RTR!

I haven't yet figured out how to do that, but I will learn and master this Apple beast.... Title: Re: Movies Post by: pmull on November 14, 2011, 10:13:35 AM The wife and I watched a good movie last night. "Walk The Line" the story of Johnny Cash. It is a 2005 release. If you liked Johnny Cash or know a little bit about him this is a very good movie. Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Goodwin star. Phoenix (Johnny Cash) and Witherspoon (June Carter) sing their own songs in the movie and do a real good job. I'M thinking about getting the soundtrack.
Title: Re: Movies Post by: 2Stater on November 15, 2011, 03:15:11 PM Somebody asked earlier about "Limitless". Great movie. I highly recommend it. "Hall Pass" is hilarious. I didn't think it would be because I'm not a big fan of Owen Wilson, but a friend recommended it and I nearly peed myself. It's a little slow to start, but side-splitting at mid-movie. Not for the kiddies, though.
Title: Re: Movies Post by: bamaphil on November 16, 2011, 11:36:32 PM I picked up a copy of 'Captain America' on DVD the other day..... It was in Mandarin with English subtitles. To make it worse whoever had dubbed it randomly put really bad music in the background because the dubbing eliminated all other sounds. >:(
