The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder from Cedar Grove High School committed to Alabama last March.

Mark Richt and UGA recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner both recently talked over the phone with Greene.

“Georgia has been coming on real strong,” Greene told the AJC. “Coach Richt and Coach G say about the same thing – that I’m a Georgia boy and that they want me to stay around home to play football.

Greene said he will probably take official visits to UGA, Ole Miss and South Carolina, along with Alabama.

One place Greene won’t visit is Auburn. “I’m not going to mess with Auburn too much. That’s like instigating something. When you’re committed to Alabama and going to visit their rival [Auburn] … I’m trying to stay out of that.”

What about Alabama fans who might be worried about Greene visiting other schools? “They know I’m committed to them. I talk to Alabama’s coaches almost every other day through email or a phone call. They know I’m committed to them. It’s all good. I’m going to take some visits because I want to take some visits, but I’m 100 percent with Alabama.”
