Title: Boog backup gone bye-bye Post by: 2Stater on October 30, 2019, 12:53:48 PM https://247sports.com/college/auburn/Article/Source-Auburn-Tigers-quarterback-Joey-Gatewood-leaves-team-137740739/?fbclid=IwAR0UIgchh2R2FsQwTp_UQZs37-6fE1Fk1TFvBmjzdGG0vWGF88GibqHinno
Quote Backup quarterback Joey Gatewood has left the Auburn football program, a person familiar with the situation tells Auburn Undercover. Gatewood did not attend practice Tuesday and was mulling whether to leave the team Tuesday night. Gatewood met with Auburn coach Gus Malzahn and staff members in the early afternoon Tuesday to discuss his future. Gatewood's discussion with Malzahn and other staffers at Auburn came on the heels of a sub-par performance by the offense in which Gatewood's role was diminished as a "package" quarterback behind starter Bo Nix. I figured it was just a matter of time before that happened. If the QB in front of you sucks, and you get minimal PT, you're outta here. Right neither one of them has anybody pushing make each better. RTR!

He must have wanted out bad. Not a classy departure like Jalen.
One caller on Finebaum said he was tired of watching Malzahn chew gum, pull up his pants, pick his nose and point at the ground. :lol2: Title: Re: Boog backup gone bye-bye Post by: 2Stater on October 30, 2019, 07:03:41 PM He played in more than 4 games so a year or eligibility is gone. During that time at least 4 Auburn fans called him "nothing but a high school coach." It got pretty brutal. Those coaches are certainly a bright lot. He's been coaching a HS offense since 1992. It just took a couple of seasons and some game film for college coaches to figure that out. :tinfoil: Title: Re: Boog backup gone bye-bye Post by: McBaman on November 01, 2019, 08:36:14 AM If Nix has any thought of an NFL career, which looks doubtful at this point, he's got to transfer. He's got to get with a coach that knows how to develop QBs. David Cutcliffe comes to mind.
Title: Re: Boog backup gone bye-bye Post by: ricky023 on November 01, 2019, 08:39:20 AM I would like to see Coach Cutcliffe come to Alabama with Dabo someday with Coach nick is done. RTR!
