Too me has to be the better, more physical tackling by the D.

Better defensive-back play.
Remember the first Q of the 2010 Arky game?  Yes, the DB tackling is better too, but coverage is better and they are a strength of the team this year.  Injuries and such took its toll last year on the DBs.

Good observation. Dre epitomizes the major improvement in tackling.

The tackling is much better, but they still go for the big hit sometimes and don't use proper technique, IMO.  There was a play last night where 2 or 3 of them made a big hit at about the same time, and none of them wrapped up.  They hit the guy hard but their impacts sort of countered each other and he didn't lose his balance.  He was knocked a few yards but he stayed perfectly upright and squirted out of there and made a big run.

There was a play in the Arkansas game where Dre almost killed a guy coming across the field in the red zone.  It was one of the hardest hits of the game, but he didn't wrap up.  The guy went down, but I would have preferred to see him go down with Dre on top of him in a bear hug.

They should make the big hit, but wrap their arms around the guy and slam him into the ground and land on top of him.  That is what I was always taught.  Is this not the proper technique any more?  I notice a lot of the pros don't do it that way either so maybe I just don't know how it is supposed to be done at this level.  Of course those same pros will sometimes completely whiff on the guy and he makes a big play.

Here we go.  Here is what I am talking about.  This is how it should be done, IMO:

I think the offensive line is now playing lights out better than they did last year.

Mark Barron stated it best :  I mean every time we hit, we want to hurt you. We don’t want to end your career or nothing, but we want it to hurt when we hit you.”.............http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/gatorbytes/2011/10/02/florida-qb-john-brantley%E2%80%99s-injury-puts-him-in-question-for-lsu-game/

I don't think Courtney subscribes to this idea. He is the QB annhilator. Courtney Upshaw is unstoppable. He really reminds me of Derrick Thomas the way he is currently playing.
