Title: Random 10/2/11 thoughts Post by: KoKoPuf on October 02, 2011, 01:46:07 PM 1. Steve Spurrier’s handling of Steven Garcia is killing SC. Maybe SG has great potential but I have yet to see it and he makes boneheaded plays that hurts SC more than his “potential” helps them. Not to mention the effect on team morale. If Connor Shaw is really awful, SC should have put Marcus Lattimore in the wildcat and let him go Mark Ingram on an awful AU rushing defense.
2. Nothing new to this board, but Tide defense is really, really good! Size, speed, depth and experience. I’m not sure there is one defensive starter that won’t play (and be drafted) in the NFL. Also more than a few of the reserves will be drafted when their time comes. 3. Tide offense has made major improvement since the start of the year. Much better OL play, good to very good QB play, and TR looking like the best RB in the country. Heck, I may get excited and jump up and down like AJ. 4. Wisconsin looks like the best outside the SEC to me. OU also has a shot at an undefeated season but TAM, OSU, and Texas will be tough. 5. Baylor QB Robert Griffin having an amazing season. At one point late in yesterday’s KSU game he had thrown for 18 TDs and only 15 incompletions for the season. 6. Georgia may have best shot at SEC East crown. Favorable schedule but Dawgs have to figure out how to beat the Gators. Title: Re: Random 10/2/11 thoughts Post by: SUPERCOACH on October 02, 2011, 02:48:49 PM Good observations.
Georgia has a chance to win the east and that might be enough to save Richt for another year. I was really pleased to see how we blocked and ran the ball last night. I especially liked when TR got in the wildcat and just ran all over them for 4 or 5 plays in a row. The same play and they could not stop it. Then EL comes in and they relax, so he just takes it the rest of the way in one play. I look for AJ to work on the deep ball the next 3 weeks. If he starts hitting some of those passes the opposition won't have a chance. They don't have much of one as it is. The OL has made steady progress each week. They played a fantastic game last night. I hope this continues. Title: Re: Random 10/2/11 thoughts Post by: Chechem on October 02, 2011, 05:30:42 PM You guys did an excellent job of covering the topics. You only left one topic. It appears that .... (hesitation)... barring injuries (shhhh), this team will cruise into the crown of national champion. LSU will be a major hurdle, but even with the head stomper they don't match the team that Alabama has become. We just need injury luck to continue.

One of them having an injury against Vandy would be a horror.
Title: Re: Random 10/2/11 thoughts Post by: 2Stater on October 02, 2011, 06:36:21 PM I thought the starters stayed in too long last night. I worry that somebody may end up getting hurt. That, however, is the only complaint I have. This is the most talented Alabama team I think I've ever seen and may be one of the most talented college teams I've ever seen. Life, as a Bama fan, is very good right now.
