Title: Florida DT injured at practice - Wow, this is big.

An ankle injury suffered at Tuesday's practice may keep Florida starting defensive tackle Dominique Easley out of Saturday's game against No. 3 Alabama, a source close to the team said Thursday night.

Also injured Tuesday was starting defensive end Sharrif Floyd, the source said. Easley is probable for the game, while Floyd is expected to play after suffering a stinger in his shoulder...

From RollBamaRoll

If true, this is BIG news for the Florida fans.  Floyd and Easley are the top-two defenders along the DL; there is little experience at backup, even though Florida has plenty of talent.

Hate this for them.  ;)

BTW, both of these linemen were 5-star recruits and ranked in the top 10 nationally by Rivals (2010).  If Easley alone is lost, Bama wins pretty easily.  If both are lost, Bama wins real easily

So your saying my predicted score of 42-6 is spot on then.

Right.  Dang, I'd better go update mine (hmm, 42-7 taken?).

I was joking, but now I'm thinking, "Don't be stupid.  Do it."

This sounds like Coach Petrino last Saturday right before AJ passed for the TD on the fake fieldgoal.

" I wonder if I should call a timeout? Don't be stupid. Do it. Oh crap, it's too late."

The strength of the Gator team is the DL. This could hurt them bad. Keep in mind they have recruited well over the last few years so they could plug in another stud and never miss a beat. Sometimes all a kid needs is an opportunity.

I remember in the mid 80's when Cornelius Bennett was hurt in practice and we knew he would not start the next game. I worried about that for days. That Saturday Tide fans was introduced to Derrick Thomas.

I guess we know where Bama will be running the ball now.

If this is just a ploy by them to get us all hyped up and they are just fine, then what. We get our hopeful bubble busted. Will Mus. is going to use everything at his options to win this Game! RTR!

Perhaps, as a starter that was it.  But I remember him from the first game of 1986, the Kickoff Classic against Ohio State.  "Ohio State last hopes ended without a score at the Crimson Tide's 18-yard line even after they got 2 extra plays with no time left when Alabama's LB Derrick Thomas was called for pass interference on successive plays."  Even though he got penalties, he was praised for displaying such speed and athleticism (later).

Remember when Opie was scared of the neighborhood bully and tried to fake sick? :dunno:

I'd prefer a healthy UF team to match our Offense/Defense, even though CJ will be missed  :(  This could seriously affect the outcome of the game in the 2nd half jmo.
