Georgia plays Clemson Bama plays ND Title: Re: Georgia #1 in CFP Post by: Catch Prothro on October 31, 2017, 07:13:32 PM I think the committee has Notre Dame overrated at #3.
But if ND wins out, and Bama/Georgia are undefeated into the SECCG and play a close one, technically that might give the SEC two teams in the playoffs, depending on the weight given to conference championships. Title: Re: Georgia #1 in CFP Post by: SUPERCOACH on October 31, 2017, 09:44:43 PM I am not surprised for UGA to be #1.
Title: Re: Georgia #1 in CFP Post by: SUPERCOACH on October 31, 2017, 09:45:32 PM I would love to see Bama, UGA, and ND in the playoffs while the other 4 conferences fight over that last spot. :lol2:
Title: Re: Georgia #1 in CFP Post by: McBaman on October 31, 2017, 11:30:59 PM I think ND is overrated but if that means we'd get to play them, then bring it on!
Maybe being ranked #2 will give our guys a beneficial reality check. You don't get it...you gotta earn it. Glad we didn't get any more rat poison. :popcorn2: Title: Re: Georgia #1 in CFP Post by: N.AL-Tider on November 01, 2017, 05:36:16 AM It doesn't matter to me right now where we are ranked. I want to see where the committee ranks us after the SECCG game is played. That is the ONLY poll that matters.

We could be 1st or 4th, and still win the natty. :lol2: Title: Re: Georgia #1 in CFP Post by: ricky023 on November 01, 2017, 09:09:03 AM I am satisfied with everything I see except TCU being so high. There are 2 8-0 teams that should both be ahead of them in my reasoning. Does anybody think different here? RTR!

There are 2 8-0 teams that should both be ahead of them in my reasoning. Does anybody think different here? RTR! Don't forget Central Florida, which is also undefeated.Neither UCF nor Wisconsin have played any ranked team. I think only one or two of their opponents even have winning records. So I don't have a problem with the committee not rewarding them for playing a weak schedule. Miami still has to play Virginia Tech and Notre Dame, plus (probably) Clemson if it makes it to the ACC Championship Game. So while they aren't ranked high yet because of their competition, if they win out they will be in the playoff. Wisconsin probably won't play a ranked team until the Big10 Championship. While Michigan is currently 24th, they still have to play Ohio State and Wisconsin, so probably not ranked after those two games. Some are questioning whether Wisconsin can get into the playoffs even if undefeated, although I think they will get in if they can beat (Ohio State or Penn State) in the Big10 Championship. They should qualify as an undefeated Power5 Conference Champion. |
