Well everything I read here is pretty much straight on. My biggest concern is penalties, and the passing game. I understand you go to a great WR but we have so many so called 5* WR's we should have 5 or 6 guys catching passes like Spurrier use to do at Fla. There is no doubt about our talent and concentration on the penalties should be a days work everyday. Thanks for listening to my special cares. RTR!

We can get this one out of the way first. It's the No. 1 gripe I've heard among those who follow this team. Statistically, it is Alabama's lowest number among major categories nationally. In terms of yards per game, the Tide ranks 88th (an improvement from the triple figures for a few weeks prior).

There is no need to sling the ball all over the yard if you can line up and ram it down their throats, even when they know it is coming.  We are hitting 600 yards per game on a regular basis, in spite of the passing numbers.  Anybody that looks at that 88th ranking and assumes we can't pass it very well is in for a little surprise.  My guess is that this may go down as the best offense we have ever had, and our defense is pretty close to our normal standard.

:popcorn2:

Now special teams, that is another story.  We desperately need some consistency fielding punts.

Alabama also leads the nation in fewest penalties against its opponents.

I hope we can fix that too.

This one got a penalty, but we should keep it in the news.   :lol2:

Non-offensive touchdowns total one so far. Just one! But seriously, it had 12 at this point last season combining the turnover and kick returns. That was an anomaly and couldn't have been repeated. On the flip side, it makes the sixth-ranked scoring average more impressive. A year ago, 23.9 percent of Alabama's scoring came from outside the offense. Now that number is just 2.0 percent -- which is actually a positive.

Hopefully we'll get the other 11 NOTs against the Boogs.

For whatever reason, this team doesn't seem to go for the strip like last year's team did. That's part of it. The other part is that teams, for the most part, aren't going deep on us. Last year, we intercepted several of those, and the blocking convoy was able to get set up to escort Minkah, Eddie or whoever, down the field for the TD.

But as long as our D performs like it has all year so far, I'm good with it.

That doesn't  bother me as long as they are making sure they get the tackle.  I would rather get the tackle than give up additional yards while trying to strip the ball out...
