"There was no change of possession during the down as the ball was fumbled through the end zone. The ball would have belonged to the defense as a touchback without the foul - but there was no change of possession during the down."

WOW

I had it wrong.   :dunno:

It sure wasn't the Big 12 officials from last year's Natty game.

Me too.  I thought if it was fumbled out of the endzone (OTE), it automatically became the other team's ball.

So, if a team fumbles OTE at any time the ball returns to where it's fumbled if there is any foul?  Or is the rule applied only when there's a penalty against Tennessee  :lol2: ?

Irv fumbling didn't upset me as much as I thought the ball going out of the End zone was always a touch back. The ruling surprised me big time. RTR!
