Title: Moral victory for Fresno?
Post by: Old Tider on September 10, 2017, 10:45:43 AM
The Fresno Bee newspaper was delighted with their loss, bragging that their team "actually found the end zone against Alabama's vaunted defense" and "our defense held Alabama's offense to 13 points in the second half."  One of their players said they were actually two plays away from winning!

Since they went 1-10 last year, I suppose they were surprised.

This is of course bovine scatology.  The FSU players quoted elsewhere are saying something quite different.

But I thought they looked like a decent, well coached team.  Just don't have the players to compete with a team like Bama.  It will be interesting to see how they do next week at Washington and then through their conf schedule.

Well they probably won't do to well in their conference but either way they can feel good. They played Alabama and everybody that gets by us thinks it is a moral victory. RTR!

We whipped their azz, played a lot of players and no one got injured. They got a big check. Everybody wins.

I think smaller schools expect something like Super's 98-0.  They don't realize Bama doesn't lay it on like some teams to get a better ranking.  Bryant used to stop at 35-0.  Why waste energy and possible injuries playing Fresno?  In fact, why play Fresno?

Was one of those two plays the coin toss?

Bless their hearts.

I'm not aware of a play that can score 16 points.  :dunno:
