Title: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: pmull on September 22, 2011, 01:06:43 PM The booger AD is making excuses. It looks like he is writing this football season off.
Quote "Auburn has seven seniors on its two-deep depth chart," Jacobs wrote. "We know from last year's success that a large class of fourth- and fifth-year seniors is crucial for success. By comparison, the first four teams that we play in October (South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida and LSU) have an average of 14 seniors on their two-deep depth chart." OK, but who signed the 20-something seniors on Auburn's 2010 BCS championship team? Tuberville. In addition to blaming him for this year's struggles, Auburn should also congratulate him for leaving behind the core of its title team. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/09/jay_jacobs_continues_to_blame.html Title: Re: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: Coach Hank Crisp on September 22, 2011, 01:11:02 PM The booger AD is making excuses. Title: Re: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: Chechem on September 22, 2011, 02:28:05 PM So... Tuberville gets credit for last year's national championship* ??
Title: Re: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: Merk on September 22, 2011, 08:18:18 PM Jeez, that's like Obama blaming Bush for our bad economy.
Title: Re: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: Chechem on September 22, 2011, 08:22:09 PM The Booger Prez can't be that stupid, can he? Finebaum said indeed he was (today). If the Boogs have nothing but freshmen to play, how in the heck can they blame anyone but themselves? Every coach in America (and several provinces) knows to work young players in occasionally.
This result isn't Tubberville's fault. It's the fault of the "all-in strategy" of last season. Title: Re: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: 2Stater on September 22, 2011, 08:29:01 PM So there's a Tubs fambly and a Cheesedip fambly, not one big Awbarn fambly?
Title: Re: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: Coach Hank Crisp on September 22, 2011, 08:30:42 PM Boogers had 8 games last year that went down to the end. No way to play young'ens.
Title: Re: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: pmull on September 22, 2011, 08:36:00 PM Jacobs knows this team is bad. Cheesedip is his hire. He is trying to protect him. In your third year youth should not be a problem. Once Malzaln is gone at the end of this year they are stuck with the 5-19 coach they hired.

With Aubarn having a bad year do you think Malzahn's stock might slip a little as far as being hired as a head coach. His stock may slip some but he has to know it is going down more if he stays another year. I read Ole Miss has their eye on him. A lot will depend on who is looking for a coach at the end of the year. Title: Re: The boogers are blaming Tuberville for this years team Post by: 2Stater on September 22, 2011, 09:00:28 PM There's really nothing wrong with Auburn's offense, with the exception of the 2nd half of the Clemson game, so I don't see his stock going down. I also don't see him going to Ole Miss, but I think there will be another big opportunity opening up that he will take after this year.

He wants to run 85 plays a game. They are running in the 50's now. His offense has the ball for about 25 minutes a game. It would not surprise me to see the offense slow the game down to help the D and Malzahn will hate that. It Malzahn's offense and Roof's defense. We were all told he was a defensive genius, responsible for the 2004 Auburn team who went undefeated and the 2005 Longhorn team that won the NC. What no one said was that Tuberville was the real DC for Auburn and at Texas he had all that Texas talent plus Vince Young had that great junior year. Roof will be fired this year and Malzahn will leave. Then, it wil get interesting who they will hire. :popcorn2: |
