Title: Tide veteran Courtney Upshaw vs. Hogs rookie Mitch Smothers Post by: ssmith general on September 21, 2011, 06:43:14 AM Quote TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - One of the bodyguards assigned to protect Arkansas VIP Tyler Wilson's blindside Saturday is a true freshman. One of the Alabama hit men assigned to assault Wilson is a ferocious, veteran pass rusher. There you have the key matchup for the Southeastern Conference showdown that pits the third-ranked Crimson Tide (3-0) against the No. 14 Razorbacks (3-0). Or is this a potential mismatch? Alabama senior outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw will test young Arkansas tackle Mitch Smothers. Experience will try to expose and exploit youth. A rookie will try to prove himself worthy against an all-star. The winner of this game within a game could expedite a victory for his team. Should paramedics be on alert Saturday? http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/09/tide_veteran_courtney_upshaw_v.html (http://media.al.com/sports_impact/photo/10021029-large.jpg) Title: Re: Tide veteran Courtney Upshaw vs. Hogs rookie Mitch Smothers Post by: BAMADCHAMPSHIPS on September 21, 2011, 06:48:22 AM I expect he will have a big game as well as Jesse and Gentry. There will also be multiple INT's. :popcorn2:

They're going to pass a lot and with the secondary we have rushed passes are probably not going to end well for Arkansas. With the D-line and linebackers we have I don't think we'll have any trouble causing rushed passes. ESPN has a simple article: Tide 'to go after' Hogs' freshman tackle http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/28502/tide-to-go-after-hogs-freshman-tackle Title: Re: Tide veteran Courtney Upshaw vs. Hogs rookie Mitch Smothers Post by: #1Tidefan on September 21, 2011, 08:57:54 AM If I were playin Poker...I wouldn't want to show my hand too early. I think Bama has been sand-bagging a little, and I can almost guarantee a completely different look. Both on the Offensive/Defensive side of the ball for this first SEC grudge match. Just a hunch...jmo

I see some changes coming but hard to say what. Title: Re: Tide veteran Courtney Upshaw vs. Hogs rookie Mitch Smothers Post by: ricky023 on September 21, 2011, 09:55:53 AM I have to say to start in a CBP offense you have to be good but then there is #41, who is going to crash the party. I can see Upshaw having a big day and the QB will need PF Flyers on his feet. RTR! |
