Title: Another Major Award for a Tide Player Part 2 Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 08, 2016, 10:06:35 PM Man, I can not believe all this love.
Quote Robinson was awarded the Outland Trophy for the most outstanding interior lineman. The junior beat Pat Elfein of Ohio State and Cody O'Connell of Washington State for the honor. http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2016/12/alabama_left_tackle_cam_robins_2.html  Title: Re: Another Major Award for a Tide Player Post by: pmull on December 09, 2016, 06:42:17 AM I was unhappy with Cam's play last year and the first half of this season. I expected more from a future 1st round pick than I was seeing. The false start once or twice every game really got under my shin. The second half of this season he has been everything we thought he could be. Running plays to his side was gaining 8+ yards most of the time. Solid pass protection. Auburn & UF have solid defenses and we worn them out running to the left.
I am not sure what changed but I think he finally got healthy. I saw some flashes about the middle of the year where he pancaked a couple but he has gotten a lot better. I do believe he will be a very high 1st rounder if he goes in the 1st round. The nfl teams won't deal with those false start mistakes and the speed up there is much faster. RTR! This is exactly what I have been thinking, that's why I am surprised he won such a prestigious trophy.
