Title: Concerns going into the toughest stretch of Bama's schedule. Post by: hscoach on October 05, 2016, 03:22:43 PM 1. The offense. The OL has been sporadic. They have allowed pressure on the quarter back along with many busted blocking assignments in the running game. Also how many sustained drives have the offense put together in games. Another point of concern is the inability at this point to get the ball on target, down the field, to the receivers.
2. Coverage by the safeties with matchups. Harrison has been beat more than once. Many game plans are trying to get the ball out early, to eliminate the pass rush and accept the 4 yard gains. 3. Fatigue. This is a tough stretch and Bama has not had an off day. They are getting ready to play 3 straight top 20 teams. On the good side Bama is scoring on defense. Plus they have seem to be able to develop some depth in a few of these games. Title: Re: Concerns going into the toughest stretch of Bama's schedule. Post by: ricky023 on October 05, 2016, 05:01:01 PM I think this is going to be harder than we expect. If for one play we let down like we did getting behind to some of the lesser teams we are going to be in trouble. I certainly do not believe if we got behind by 21 at OM right now at the half we would win that game again. Our P's better be as good as our Q's these next 3 weeks. Starting with Arkie. RTR!

He said talking to an old college coach that he said that a coach can only get a team up 3 or 4 times a year for big game. To paraphrase he thinks Saban has "taken" it easy on the Tide the last two game with the idea of what would be needed in the upcoming schedule. It anyone else heard it please help me clean this up if needed.

I think our coaching staff are looking forward to the challenge and the team is buying into it .....our chance to shine! I think our toughest game at this point is A&M, if we lose to Tenn and still win out we get to probably get to play Tenn again in the SEC Championship game. I think we play Tenn twice! RTR! It does bother me that we have better recruiting classes, Tenn and A&M seem to be getting more out of their players....maybe they are just "MORE HUNGRY"
When I say our chance to shine , I am talking undefeated! Title: Re: Concerns going into the toughest stretch of Bama's schedule. Post by: 2Stater on October 05, 2016, 07:20:40 PM We just need to play one game at a time and execute to the best of our ability in that game. Right now, Arkansas is the most important game of the season.

My biggest worry is ALWAYS our DBs. From year to year this is, to me, our biggest vulnerability. Every pass by Arky will be a pass interference call waiting to happen the way our guys play. Other than OM, we have not faced a team with a strong passing attack. And look at what OM did to us. Be sure Arky has noticed. I kinda think our DBs will play a little better this week. Maybe a couple of interceptions, maybe one pick-6. The x-factor will be Hurts legs. Title: Re: Concerns going into the toughest stretch of Bama's schedule. If he fails on one play then forget it win the next one and move on. No looking back what if or we could, just do it one play at a time. Now shine, shine brethren shine! RTR! He was Danielson's former high school coach. You heard him right about getting a team up only 3 or 4 games a year. Title: Re: Concerns going into the toughest stretch of Bama's schedule. Humphrey getting beat too much, too. We have to throw to someone besides Ridley. I am very impressed with Joshua Jacobs. He's the real deal. Our DB's get beat worse than a red-headed step child. RTR!
Title: Re: Concerns going into the toughest stretch of Bama's schedule. Post by: sbo1971 on October 06, 2016, 10:10:16 AM I'm still trying to figure out why the DB's no longer keep an eye on the ball, every since Cyrus Jones they get hit with pass interference because they never turn their head and they run over/into the receiver.
Glad to see that there are other people who feel that Bama has a good team but has room for improvement, so many people pitch a hissy fit if you say one thing about the lack of accuracy at QB, play calling, or the DB's getting burned. Playing man defense is one where you have to get help from others with ball calls as well as read the eyes/body language of the offensive player. Bama has a lot of improving to do especially on offense. I also think they haven't shown their complete defensive package, especially with stunts, which could help the DB's. The best pass defense is a great pass rush. |
