We all knew that play was illegal when it happened, but it is nice for Jimbo to point it out.

First of all, to the deepest pit of Hell with aw barn and anything associated with them.

Secondly, I have noticed a significant deterioration in the knowledge and abilities and the game calling of our SEC referees.. Having been a HS official my own self, I keep abreast of these things, and "THEY AIN'T WHAT THEY USED TO BE"

Thirdly, a smart coach will use very trick in the book, legal and otherwise..Notice I said smart, not ethical.

Fourthly, EVERY coach worth his salary studies the tendencies of the officials who are calling his next game..he passes this knowledge on to the asst coaches and the players to be aware of during the game.

Fifthly, an official's job is a thankless one, even if they do get paid well. But that being said, if one wants the job then by george he ought to strive to be the absolute best, be in position to make the call, see the play, make the call, and be d*mn confident in it.

Finally, the replay and review has caused theses guys to be a bit more lax in their calls, they know it will be reviewed, and there is no shame in getting a call reversed

All the above is simply my own opinion.

Last year they had an experiment with an extra official just for the purpose of watching for linemen downfield on pass plays.  I think they need to make that permanent.  They need to add 8 more officials when it is an Auburn game.  :lol2:

Either that or keep a camera on the OL and review Barn's lineman after every pass play.

I officiated Baseball and football, but only did BB one year..I got a call from the booking agent and he told me I was calling too many fouls..he said, no blood no foul, let em play and get your check and go home. I gave that up..BB is nothing but a street game now, anyways. They don't coach em up like Adolph Rupp Or John Wooden. Rupp in his heyday would not allow his players to dribble the ball after the half court line..pass, pass, pass, shoot.

Roll, Tide!

The UT game has got me a little bit concerned.

BB can mean baseball or basketball.
You meant basketball I assume in the "no blood no foul" example.   :dunno:

"It cost Alabama a national championship," Fisher said, referring to the 2013 Iron Bowl, which featured the infamous Kick Six.

Smart man.  He knew Bama would have whipped FSU in the championship game.

It's impossible to know how that game or the national championship would have played out. It's a shame we'll always have to wonder what might have been instead of seeing it play out on the field as it should have.

The 2 greatest coaches of all time in Basketball. One thing for sure Basketball is only thing hoods can do so thugs are all playing basketball and they don't have fouls. It is sad but you are so right. RTR!
