Title: twittering by players
Post by: bamalum67 on September 13, 2011, 02:04:33 PM
Somebody help this old geezer...What the H*ll is it with this twitter crap? Why are so many people, not just teens either, hooked on this?

Is it all that important to lots of people that their every thought goes out to 3,789,564 people?
Do they think their thought are that earth-shaking?

Why does PS tweet a somewhat negative thought then get his panties in a wad because people respond back to him in negative ways?

Why does CNS and staff think it so important that they "monitor" the players who are tweeting?

I swear 'fore God ALmighty, I do not understand this world today.

Toys.  People like to play with toys.  PS was naive to think he could 'say something' on twitter that he probably would not say in person to a group.  I think it should be a team rule that players can't tweet or post on facebook ANYTHING about the team, i.e. these not  approved methods of communicating info.  Coaches have a legit desire to control what is said, how it's said and when it's said.

I was not very clear when I asked why CNS and the staff monitored the twitter crap..I think they have a right to do it, and if it were me, I'd ban it to h*ll outright.

.I long for the days when BAMA could monitor the players all the time..they were in the Ath Dorm..under tight control..and it seemed to work pretty darn good.

!@#$%^&ing Ncaa pukes!

I love twitter. I don't tweet, but I follow 60 people and websites. I follow the sports writers from the various media outlets. I follow 15 news sites and a couple of pro players, and Conan. Conan sends out one liners all day.

This is why I like it so much.

What all the writers do now is tweet their latest article and have the link to it. So I let the articles come to me, I don't have to go to the sites and look to see if there is new articles. I already receive them as soon as writers post them and tweet them.

Another great feature about twitter. Unlike email, where you have to delete your messages, I just turn off twitter. Then the next day I login and start receiving the latest news. Also when I minimize my home twitter page, the number of new tweets shows up on the menu twitter bar.

It is simple to do. I don't use twitter on a phone. I set up my account on my laptop. I then choose who to follow by checking follow on their name or websites.

I am with you.  They should take some advice from Lilleth Crane from this episode of wings:

I don't twitter and don't get why so many people do. You can text on a phone so why twitter? Another example of people with too much time on their hands.

You know guys and ladies I don't understand the big thing over twittering. If that is the worst thing they do, then I would worry about the other stuff. Twittering don't get them in jail, or help them beat up a pedestrian. RTR!

On Facebook, you can set it to tweet what you post.

My son set up my Facebook account last year so I could keep up and communicate with him and my daughter. Besides my family members, I have a total of 28 friends. 4 of them are neighbors on my street. I have lived here for 26 years. My neighbors and I know when each of us are out of town and stuff like that so we can keep an eye out on each others property. I also can keep up with the homeowners association and what's going on in my community. In that regard it is a good useful tool.
