Title: Update on QBs
Post by: McBaman on August 09, 2016, 03:38:24 PM
I'm beginning to think there will be a package for J Hurts this fall.  Sounding like there's too much talent to keep on the sidelines.

Sounds like the future is bright at QB.

It also sounds like he is forcing the issue in practice. If he can learn the playbook and read the defense then it will tell the story. RTR!

That's pretty much what we all thought after the spring game.  He's well ahead of most freshmen seen at Alabama recently, and has been on campus since January.  He looks ready for playing time, so maybe this year we finally see a 2-QB rotation of sorts.

I would rather have just one QB, the 2 QB thing never seems to work out

I know the limitations, but we've been VERY lucky with QB injuries during the past 4-5 seasons.  We haven't had a backup with experience for years.

The one thing I am concerned about about is that Hurts being a Freshman and stepping on the big stage against a team like USCw and the big spotlight it will be different that practice or anything he has ever faced. RTR!

That's why he likely won't start until he's proven himself under pressure.  But I think we'll see him against USCw, even if it's just for a few plays (when we're ahead 45-0).

I see you and SC have some of the same numbers in your ideas. Would that be 45-0 at halftime or later?  :D, RTR!

Sports radio between Pensacola and Greenville are slamming Cooper Bateman. The guy on Clemson sports radio said "Bama fans better hope Saban doesn't go with Bateman". Is he doing that bad?

 ???

I didn't really think Cooper was doing that bad myself, but I am taking this from what I read on AL dot com and the guys here on CRS. RTR!

Good for the bulletin board; save for the playoffs.

Barn vs. Clemson....to me the question is not the score (which could look really bad) but rather how bad does Awbarn as a team "look" being on the same field with a team like Clemson?
