Quote — Quarterback David Cornwell, who has been dealing with a foot injury, didn't do some of the quarterback drills that required a lot of movement, like rollouts. — Junior defensive back Tony Brown, who has played primarily cornerback at Alabama, was working with the safeties. Cornwell's injury is especially concerning. Jalen Hurts is moving up! Title: Re: "Alabama practice report: Notes from the Tide's Saturday practice" Post by: pmull on August 07, 2016, 06:35:23 AM I read yesterday where the QB battle was down to three. Cornwell has been injured and could not work out most of the summer like the other guys and has fallen behind. Cooper Bateman, Blake Barnett and Jalen Hurts are getting most of the reps.

I mentioned it several times if you look back but; if David can't play he can't start but I am venturing a new change in CNS routine. I think a Freshman might lead the team on the field this year. This being young MR Hurts. If he gets the playbook and some of the reads just Sims learned on the field his athletic ability may bring him to the top. We shall see. RTR!

Cornwell was behind Bateman last year. If you recall Bateman started the Ole Miss game. The only game Coker did not start. Rumor was Barnett was even with Bateman last year but the coaching staff wanted him to redshirt.
