Title: Pray for Nate
Post by: bamaphil on September 08, 2011, 08:53:21 PM
After my message last night I had a talk with a guy named Nate from Colorado who has a lot of questions about faith.  He's read the Bible, C.S. Lewis' 'Mere Christianity', and even listened to some online seminary courses, he just doesn't know what it means to have faith or believe in something that can't be proven as absolute truth.  He's not hostile to Christianity and I think he really wants to believe.  Please pray that God will open his heart to the truth.

There are a lot of people like that.  My advice:  keep the dialogue going.  If he asks you something you don't know the answer to, just admit that up front.  If you keep him thinking and talking about it in a non-confrontational way, he may eventually see the light and find his way.  If he sees that you truly believe, even though you don't have all the answers either, that is a powerful testimony.

Blessings to you both. We will never have all the answers but we are here to be used by the Lord to share HIS messages with the world.
Heavenly Father we ask for forgiveness of our sins. Lord we have a brother here who is unsure, I know Lord if you open up to him as you did me you can draw him to you. Lord you claimed me in the state I was in there is nothing this brother could have worse than me, so Lord my Prayer to you is Draw him Father. I trust you, and believe. Thank you Lord. In the name of Jesus I pray this Prayer. AMEN!

Keep up the good work bamaphil. Nate is talking and listening to you for reason. In these situations I try to do more listening than talking. Don't be pushy but be there for him. Keep in mind God is working on him, you are just helping. I will keep you and Nate in my prayers.

This is key.  It is Nate's journey, we are just sign posts at the fork in the road.
