 :popcorn2:

Dari Nowkhah, on the SEC Network, still has them on the bubble. This is one weekend where they could really use a sweep.

The middle relief gave up the 8-2 lead Bramblett had. Thomas Burrows, one of the best closers in the NCAA, did his job and shut down the hogs pitching 1 2/3 innings.

The magic number to reach the NCAA Tournament appears to be 15 SEC wins. We are 13-12 with 5 SEC games to play. We need at least 1 more from Arkansas at their place but a sweep would be nice. A win or 2 against USCe would really look good on the post season resume.

Hey pmull are we capable of this type of win? I am just wondering if we have the defense to do it? RTR!

Bama wins Game Two 10-4. Will Haynie had 2 HR's including a first inning blast for a grand slam. Jake Walters had another good start going 7 strong innings allowing 2 runs.

Get the brooms out. We are going for the sweep tomorrow.

This is great! Chances are much better for post season possibilities. A sweep would indeed, be great tomorrow.

Our pitching has been there all year. We have three weekend starters that, as a group, are as good as any in the SEC. Our bats have come alive in the Arkansas series. The hog announcers are saying we have hit the ball as well as any team they have faced this year. Maybe the bats are getting hot at the right time.

Our post season chances get better with each SEC win. A win today would be big because it gets us to the Mendoza Line of 15 SEC wins. A win or two at home next week against #7 USCe would be get us in. If we go 15-15 we may need to win a SEC Tournament game.

Bama gets the sweep with a 7-4 Game Three win.

This win was not easy. Alabama broke open a 2-2 tie in the top of the 8th scoring one run. Thomas Burrows came in to close out the final two innings and protect the 3-2 lead. He gives up a 2 run HR. We come to our final at bat in the top of the 9th needing at least one run to extend the game. The 9th went like this:

Vincent  Ground out  1 out
Wood     Single         Runner on 1st
Cujen     Single         Runners 1st & 2nd
Webb     Pop Up        2 out
Vance    Walk           Bases Loaded
Salem    Single          Wood and Cujen score (5-4) Vance to 3rd Salem to 2nd
Taylor    Walk           Bases loaded
Haynie   Single          Vance and Salem score (7-4) Taylor to 3rd
Henry    Fly Out         3 out

Salem was down to his last strike when he hit a hard shot up the middle. It was beautiful.

Burrows pitched the 9th to get the 7-4 win.

Bama goes to 30-21 and 15-12 SEC. Our odds of making the NCAA Tournament just improved greatly. We play Samford in T-town on Tuesday and South Carolina at home next weekend.
