In last year's NFL Draft, a player with Alabama football roots (that is, played at a state high school or college) was the first selection, with former Hueytown High School star Jameis Winston going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 1. The top choice in the NFL Draft on Thursday night won't be a state product, but seven of the 80 previous No. 1 picks have been.
