Quote Alabama softball outscored its opponents 15-1 over two games on Friday at the Easton Tournament, hitting a combined five home runs to defeat Grand Canyon and New Mexico. We conclude action at the Easton Tournament on Saturday facing DePaul (6-14) at 12:30 and No. 14 Oklahoma (17-4) at 6:00. Eleven of Alabama's (24-4) 15 runs came off home runs, with Leona Lafaele accounting for two and Marisa Runyon, Haylie McCleney and Reagan Dykes adding the others. Lafaele and McCleney each tallied a combined four hits between the two games, while Chandler Dare went 3-6 with two runs scored. The Oklahama game should be a good one. I was surprised to see they are only ranked 14th. She struck out the side 3 innings in a row until the last inning. There were two outs when Osorio walked a batter and then the home run. I went to the bath room after tjhe walk and when I came back I heard I heard a commercial on the radio and thought Osorio had gotten out of the inning okay but then Mrs. J broke the bad news to me.
I really hate it for Osorio because it wasn't all her fault as Bama's bats were dead, I think they had two hits for the game. They had a chance to score earlier in the game with runners on first and second with two out but Cochran was robbed of a base hit but the Okie shortstop made a great play to snag the line drive that was over her head. |
