We got swept in Hoover last year losing Game 1 in 16 innings and Game 3 in 13 innings. Let's hope we can return the favor in Baton Rouge. LSU is good again this year. We are better than the last few years (IMO). We need to at least get one of these games. Winning 2 of 3 would be even better.

Friday's game was rained out. They will play a double header today with the first game at 2:00 and the second at 6:30.

Alabama beats LSU 6-0 in Game 1. A 4 run 7th broke open a scoreless game and Bama got two more runs in the 9th. Another good pitching performance by the Tide. Bramblett went 6 strong innings for the win. Keller pitched the final three innings for the save. A combined 5 hit shutout. It was the first shutout for LSU this season.

Game 2 is at 6:30 tonight. Jake Walters will be on the mound for the Tide.

Well done men! It is good to take down the #7 team in the nation with a shutout. RTR!

Wow! I think most of us would have been happy with 1 win against them in Baton Rouge, but to win the series, regardless of the outcome tomorrow, is particularly sweet. Is it too much to hope for the sweep tomorrow?  :dunno:

It is not on TV. It is streaming live on Watch ESPN. I watch it on a SMART TV device rather than on the computer.

You can get it on your phone by loading the Watch ESPN App. You must have a cable or Direct TV account to access the ESPN site.

Instead of clinking on "Gametracker" click on "SEC Network +" from RollTide.com. Live video & audio action beats delayed stats. It is not the best quality video and the audio goes out from time to time but I love watching the games.

On RollTide.com look at the schedule to see which games are on TV. Very few are not on anymore. They consider "SEC Network +" TV but it is actually computer streaming. Softball can be viewed the same way.

This doesn't sound like the norm for LSU baseball, they must have lost a lot of players from last years team. I'm not trying to take anything away from the wins for Bama but I've seen Bama play a few times and they never impressed me so much as to say they could go down to Baton Rouge and win the first two games and the series. :dunno:

They were talking about them on "SEC Now" last night. I believe they said that they lost 8 or maybe 9 players from last year.

LSU entered the game ranked No. 7 with a 13-3 record. The pitcher in Game 1 was a pre-season All-American. A strong wind was blowing into the batters face which kept a few balls in the park and out of the deep alleys which helped. We were able to still get a couple of home runs and deep ball doubles. LSU has 6 starters with batting averages over .300. Our pitching has been terrific.

I give us the credit for winning these games rather than LSU losing them. We will see as the season goes on.

It was good to see catcher Will Haynie break out of his batting slump. He is so athletic and the scouts just love him but his bat has been dead all season till of late. He was batting less than .100 until recently. He is tough behind the plate though and I think he will get a good chance at the next level.

Warning: The home team announcers do the audio so get ready for LSU "homers" calling the game. Our guys do it for our home games.

If we take down LSU again should we not move up in the rankings? Still LSU is a good BB team. RTR!

He was 2-4 in both games yesterday. He had a monster home run against the wind that was very strong. His average is up to .244. He averaged .276 last year.

He also threw a runner out at second base but the ump blew the call. Even the LSU announcers say the runner was out.

That might be real interesting to listen to today after two straight loses by them and at home. ;)

I think you will like it. Baseball, softball and gymnastics are all covered live this way if they are not on regular TV. I have noticed that non-SEC away games are not covered as a rule. I think ESPN has gone to each SEC facility and set up cameras, etc so they are always ready.

Well at least we got 2 out of 3. You can't hold a good team down 4 runs and turn around and give them all the chances they want and expect to win. We did win the series though. RTR!

Hell, after the 1st and 2nd called strikes were both outside and low (2nd nearly hit the plate), he prolly didn't know what a strike looked like any more!!

Right down the middle, belt high, senior at the plate, tying run on 2nd, 2 outs, bottom of 9th and the game on the line. You cannot take that pitch.

Chech, how did you like watching the game on SEC Network +?

This is just one loss and we did win the series.  But I saw numerous mistakes that are a result of poor coaching:

1.  Batter sliding into 1st base.
2.  Outfielders not wearing sunglasses when the sun is in their face.
3.  Left fielder completely misses a slow roller that goes past him and allows the runners to advance while he chases it down.
4.  Down by 2 or 3 runs and the runner on 3rd almost tries to go home on a passed ball that was recovered quickly.  You don't even go there unless it is 100%.  Seems like they did this late last year in a critical game and got called out at the plate.
5.  I can't even count the times we didn't field a routine ground ball cleanly.  However, one of the errors called on the SS should have been ruled a hit.

I could probably list a dozen fundamental mistakes like those.  I haven't followed the baseball team that much, but this indicates poor coaching to me.  I know ALL 12 of my 6 to 8 year olds run through first base and turn out into foul territory.  We totally gave this game away.

I will say that I enjoyed the LSU announcers this weekend.  Sure they were hoping for the home team to win, but I must say they called it right down the middle.  Numerous times a call went against Bama and they pointed out the ump probably made the wrong call.  That was quite refreshing, especially considering their home team was 6 outs away from being swept.  My wife noted that there were several times when I would make a comment, and then they would say the exact same thing (verbatim in some cases).

Enough ranting.  I'm going outside with little SC for BP.  He hits 2 buckets of balls on days we don't have practice (96 balls total).  It looks like it is starting to pay off.  That will be a much more productive use of a Sunday afternoon.
