Title: University of Louisville Going Down with Louisville AD & Coach Rick Pitino
Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 13, 2016, 01:29:13 PM
We have discussed this scandal before but new damning info has been revealed by ESPN. Read entire story, incredible. Piton, UL, & the AD are in deep, deep, denial over this situation.

Quote
At least three former University of Louisville men's basketball recruits have confirmed to NCAA investigators that they attended parties inside an on-campus dorm where strippers danced for them and prostitutes were paid to have sex with them, a source close to the NCAA investigation told Outside the Lines.

Quote
"It's a pathetic story," the source said. "McGee gave the players a stack of dollar bills ranging from $200 to $500. Everybody in the room got the money -- the recruits and the current members of the team. Not only that, but McGee himself had his own stack of dollar bills. If this guy's spending $2,000 to $3,000 on a recruiting weekend, where's this money coming from?"

Outside the Lines spoke briefly this month with McGee in Kansas City, where he is working as a driver for the car service Uber.

Nothing will happen through this. This is another Florida St. deal if it is in fact true which it very well may not be true. RTR!

I think Pitino should start thinking about a John Calipari-esque escape plan. Find a smaller school for a couple of years to screw up and then move on to another big job. If the Fulmer Trophy could be awarded outside of conference, Louisville would be hot on Tennessee's heels.

As a matter of fact, I vote that the Fulmer Cup be an SEC award, but overall excellence in offseason screwups across the nation should have its own separate award. Maybe the SMU Cup?

No, the NCAA is going to nail Louisville to the barn door. They have, so far, 3 prior recruits saying they were offered strippers/prostitutes by a UL assistant coach. I bet more stuff will come out with more recruits providing information. I expect a huge hit by the NCAA since UL & Pitino appear to be stonewalling things.

Pitino is 63 so his time is limited. The University of Louisville will not get rid of him no matter what. Of course, if the NCAA just destroys UL basketball with sanctions like loss of 7 schoolys over 3 years, 2-3 years of no NCAA Tourney, no recruits allowed on UL property for 3 years, limited recruiting trips, & maybe more, it might make Pitino retire if it saves UL. Plus, we still don't know how much more will come out over this sordid situation.

He and the AD don't seem to think so. Does the UL Prez have the guts to fire both?
