Did somebody say pitching? Quote Bramblett (1-0) has allowed just two earned runs and 12 hits in 21 1/3 innings over three starts. He has a 0.84 ERA. Opposing hitters are batting just .167 against him. #+ Title: Re: Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame Post by: Jamos on March 05, 2016, 07:23:25 AM Bama plays Niagara at 11:30 and NC St at 3:30 today. It feels good to beat them in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. I think we keep it up we have to be eventually ranked no matter how bad espn don't want us too. lol, RTR!
Title: Re: Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame Post by: pmull on March 05, 2016, 07:40:30 AM I followed the game on GameTracker since there is not any TV coverage this weekend. We got off to a fast start getting 3 runs in the 1st. We scored another run in the 4th.
Bramblett was terrific on the mound. He went 8 innings giving up 5 hits and no runs. He struck out 6 and did not walk a batter. He picked up his first win of the year and we are 3-0 in games he started. His ERA is 0.84 with 21.1 innings pitched. We have won games he started 3-1, 2-1 and 4-0. The pitching staff as a whole is off to a very solid start. The team ERA is 1.44. If the offense can score a few runs this pitching staff can carry much of the load this year. Title: Re: Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on March 05, 2016, 08:19:54 AM I guess I've been living under a rock...I had no idea we had a linebacker hitting lead-off for us.

He is not a full time starter. He has started 5 of our 9 games. He has only had 13 at bats compared to over 30 for the regulars. He has been effected when he plays. He is batting .385, 4 walks and 6 runs scored. He is 2-3 on stolen bases. He has played in 8 games. When not starting he is used as a pinch hitter and runner. He is a good addition to the team without using a scholarship since football is paying his way. We will lose him some this spring because he is cleared to play baseball when it does not interfere with football. Title: Re: Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame Post by: pmull on March 05, 2016, 01:58:10 PM Bama leads 8-4 in the 7th. A lot of new names playing in this game with several starters getting some rest.

We play #8 NC State next at 3:30. Expect our starters to be back in the line up for this game. Jake Walters on the mound for the Tide. Title: Re: Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame Post by: 2Stater on March 05, 2016, 03:10:22 PM I was watching the "Gametracker" and it looks like Hubbard was a little wild in the 6th inning, but no problems other than leaving a few too many runners on base. Another good win for Bama.

As Jamos said the ACC is a good baseball conference. This was a good contest for us to see where our team is. We lost the game but this team looks better than any CMG has put on the field. Title: Re: Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame Post by: pmull on March 06, 2016, 05:39:56 PM Ninth-Inning Rally Leads Baseball Past Brown, 2-0, on Sunday
Quote A pair of runs in the ninth inning proved the difference, as Alabama baseball shut out Brown, 2-0, on Sunday at the final day of the USA Baseball-Irish Classic. The win helped the Crimson Tide finish 3-1 at the three-day tournament and moves the team record to 10-2 overall. "We were outstanding on the mound again today," said Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard. "Ray (Castillo) gave us a good start, Brock (Love) was solid in the middle and (Kyle) Cameron was really good on the back-end. They kept us in the game, and then the offense came through late." Alabama senior Ray Castillo earned the start and was followed by freshmen Brock Love and Kyle Cameron, with the trio combining to blank the Bears on Sunday. Castillo tossed 4.0 innings of one-hit baseball with three walks and three strikeouts before turning it over to Love. The freshman worked 2.0 innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out one batter. http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-basebl/recaps/030616aab.html Title: Re: Weekend series; Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame, then ... I'll be out that way chasing trout, so I could swing by there and watch a game. :popcorn2: Title: Re: Weekend series; Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame, then ... Two years ago there was a tornado right near the ball field. I saw the storm north of I-80 heading toward Omaha, then listened to the game on the radio as it approached and they suspended play. I enjoy listening to the games on Sirius while out west. Helps the driving-time pass. Title: Re: Weekend series; Bama baseball shuts out Notre Dame, then ...
