How many times did we hear "Bama is loaded" in negative recruiting this year? Top-level players can play as freshmen at Alabama. We struggled so much on kick covereage last year and I'm sure the coaches sre trying to shore up that area with the young ones that are wanting some playing time. Those young guys feel like a part of the team if they play, even for just a series or a kickoff. It helps practice the next week. Not playing sucks. I remember walking out of the locker room after a win. I hadn't played. It's hard to make fans understand what an important role the non-starters play in the success of a team, these players don't get enough credit. I had plenty of celebration later. I always try to remember those days when coaching young kids, including everyone as best I can. Kids don't forget their highs and lows when they're young. |
