Title: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 11:40:35 AM Unusual time for today's game. It's on the SEC Network @ 1:30 pm.
Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 12:33:12 PM Game is in T-town and a sellout was announced on Thursday. What do A&M, Florida, USC, & LSU all have in common? They are all projected to make the Big Dance & Bama beat all of them. Tide shown as last 4 in by Lunardi today. What am I missing with this "logic"?

Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 02:04:17 PM We are looking sloppy & missing too many shots. Hale 0/4 shooting right now. 22-18 MSU.
Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 02:08:04 PM We're shooting 30% & can't hit a free throw 1-1. Very ugly. 24-18 MSU.

Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 02:17:27 PM Good news is Tide has been sloppy & shot poorly but trails by only 3.
Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 02:46:47 PM Very bad call by refs resulting in at least 4 point turn around & maybe even 7 points against Tide.
:wall: :wall: :wall: Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 02:55:02 PM We have plenty of time to win the game, but we have looked so ugly & discobobulated. We need to reward this crowd.
Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 02:56:18 PM 47-41 MSU, 11:13 left.
Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 03:02:45 PM 52-47 MSU. Tide looking a little better, especially on D.
Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 03:12:48 PM Tide playing much better, 6/7 last 7 shot attempts. 58-57 MSU. Still lots of time, 4:23.
:popcorn2: Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 03:18:34 PM Tide 11/21 FT's, 52%, absolutely no excuse for this.
:wall: :wall: :wall: Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2016, 03:23:43 PM The Grant dribble offense lives on!! We're running out of time and we run around dribbling the ball then at last second, we shoot ugly shot and miss. 64-57 MSU. Two huge turnovers by Tide with 2 minutes left, and some bad shots, plus missed FT's. 65-59 MSU.

Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: pmull on February 20, 2016, 03:46:35 PM Tide loses 67-61 in an ugly, pathetic performance. :( Pathetic performance is right. We are not a good enough team to play uninspired and still win. I did not see this coming. We played awful. MD, forget the good. It was all bad and ugly today. Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: ricky023 on February 20, 2016, 03:54:18 PM maybe they read our posts about how good i thought we were getting and they thought they were the best now. I guess i got brought back down to earth we are still not that team we want to be where we win 5 or 6 in a row. The sad part of this to me is we lost at home. People came to see the change that we all had talked about and the change was not there as much as I had said it was. RTR!

Kids will break your heart if given the chance. :( >:( Yes sir you are so right. I was so looking forward to what was going to be said about Alabama this coming week when we won this game. I still believe we might get in the big dance if we win some more games and go 2 deep in the tourney, but our seeding I don't think we will be higher than #12. Maybe an even if we are blessed but I don't think we will be any higher. My reasoning is that we just don't play up to the higher seeds placing. RTR! RTR! Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: Jamos on February 20, 2016, 08:36:54 PM It was a tough loss but give MSU some credit, they have improved the second half of the season but that isn't to say they were the reason Bama lost today. Mentally, Bama was a train wreck today and you can blame all that played.
Bama looked good in their shoot around and at the first of the game but after that, they were not a good team. It was a tough loss but the season isn't over, they need to put this game behind them and get ready for Tuesday night. Hale should have had over 20 points in the first half, he missed a lot of shots from underneath the basket. Coleman didn't have a clue as to what he was supposed to do today. Obasohan just ran out of gas but those three were not just their reason for their losing, it was all of them that played. I might add too that we had one official that had a bad game as well. Anyway, it's Kentucky Tuesday night and maybe the team can get refocused by then and give Kentucky a run for their money, you never know it could happen. Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: pmull on February 21, 2016, 08:12:28 AM Everything Bama gained with back-to-back wins over Florida and A&M was negated in the loss to Miss State. Our RPI jumped 12 points to 42 and our strength of schedule increased to 23. Even after beating us MSU's RPI is 15.
It will take a very strong finish to reach the goals we reset for this team a few days ago. We have to get a good win to offset the bad loss. It may also take 2 SEC Tournament wins. I hope the team can rebound from the loss. It burst my bubble, I hope it did not burst theirs. Title: Re: Alabama vs Mississippi State in Basketball Post by: pmull on February 21, 2016, 08:51:18 AM The game was announced as a sell out and the box score shows a full house 15,383. On TV you could see empty seats scattered all over. It is hard to estimate the size of the crowd on TV because all you can see is close to the floor and behind the baskets. All those empty seats are not at concessions and bathrooms.
In order to have a good home crowd they need to do away with Tide Pride football status tied to basketball games. We need basketball fans in those seats. The same may be true for baseball. Two sell outs and I see empty seats. I was considering going to T-Town yesterday and enjoy a basketball-baseball doubleheader but on Thursday basketball was sold out and only 500 baseball tickets remained. I stayed home and played golf instead. That did not go well either. I want to get back to baseball and T-town too. I see that in my future!
