Title: Alabama vs LSU in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 17, 2016, 02:35:34 PM Big, big game tonight on SEC Network @ 8 pm.
:popcorn2: Title: Re: Alabama vs LSU in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 17, 2016, 02:40:14 PM Great slate of teams playing tonight besides Alabama/LSU. Also at 8pm is Duke/UNC. Other games of interest are Syracuse/Louisville, Villanova/Temple, Providence/Xavier, all @ 6 pm. Wow.
 Title: Re: Alabama vs LSU in Basketball Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 17, 2016, 02:44:58 PM I think we are much better team now. I don't think Hale played in that game.
Quote Alabama, winners of four straight and five of its last six games, will travel to Baton Rouge, La., to take on league leaders LSU on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. CT. It will mark the second meeting between the two teams this season. The Tigers took a narrow 72-70 victory over Alabama in Tuscaloosa back on Jan. 23. Tim Quarterman's putback with 33.7 seconds remaining was the difference in the ball game. http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/021616aaa.html Title: Re: Alabama vs LSU in Basketball Post by: ricky023 on February 17, 2016, 03:22:19 PM I think we have as good a chance to win tonight as we have to lose. I believe we are a better team than we actually think about. RTR!

After this win we are going to have to win at least 2 games in the SEC tourney and we are in the big dance but I don't see us seeded higher than #13 or 14. RTR!
Title: Re: Alabama vs LSU in Basketball Post by: SUPERCOACH on February 17, 2016, 10:13:35 PM Roll Tide! That was fun to watch.

A strong finish and a good showing in the SEC tourney and we're a 10 seed, maybe even a 9.

It's one game at a time; that's where the fun is. ;D Title: Re: Alabama vs LSU in Basketball Post by: 2Stater on February 18, 2016, 06:34:51 AM Outstanding win for the Tide! I think a lot of people had conceded the games against LSU and Ky. As Corso says "Not so fast, my friend!" That is back to back huge wins on the road for Bama. I can't remember the last time they did that. They are gelling at the right time. Now it's time to finish strong!

We will be no lower than a 10 seed if we don't self-destruct. The committee likes putting power conference bubble teams as 11 seeds and placing them in the play-in game. The 12 seeds and higher are mainly reserved for small conference automatic bids. If we win our 3 home games I think we are in. Wins on the road at UK and UGA and any SEC Tourny wins only improves are seeding. BTW, our RPI improved to 30 with the LSU win. SOS at 12. (Per ESPN) This is getting more fun with every win. In past years I would cringe every time we rotated in some bench players. Now it doesn't matter, the bench guys usually make a pretty good contribution when they are on the floor.

The 8/9 seed is a trap, if you win, then you face the #1 Seed. I would rather be a 10 or 11 seed than an 8/9. :popcorn2: Title: Re: Alabama vs LSU in Basketball Post by: pmull on February 19, 2016, 07:00:01 AM Unless the team implodes, which doesn't seem likely as they're getting better every game, we're in already. In your scenario we would finish 22-11. The committee looks at your overall body of work but also looks at how you are playing at the end of the season heading into Tournament time. We would finish 11-2 with losses to Kentucky and on Saturday to a good team in the SEC semi-final. That could push us higher than a 7 IMO. It is great to even be having these discussions in CAJ first year that everyone wrote off as a rebuilding year.
