We start our SEC schedule off at Ole Miss at 8 pm on ESPNU tonight.

Very challenging game for the Tide. It's on the road at the brand new BB arena called The Pavilion, a 9,500 seat, $95 mil complex for Ole Miss. Ole Miss is 10-3 with wins over Memphis, UMASS, & losses to George Mason, Kentucky, & Seton Hall.

Tide D has stepped up & shutdown Ole Miss. Crap, Hale fouls with 1 second left in half. 40-32 Half

Ole Miss guard Stefan Moody came into game averaging 23 points a game. Tide has limited him to 7 points with 5 turnovers, a sign of excellent D. He has scored 4 points off free throws.

Taylor has 4 fouls & Kessens 3. Hall has to start playing big. Edwards 14 points & Obasohan has 14. We need some more players to step up & score like Norris, Coleman (has 6 points), & Hale.

I get so frustrated with these silly-azzs turnovers we have in every game. We have had 4 unforced turnovers in this game. Kessens with 4th foul.

Hall, Taylor, & Kessens have 4 fouls each, on the brink of disaster for Tide.

Quite the game so far. Feels like it's about to get away from Bama though.

74-66 Ole Miss Final

Really sloppy play by Bama down the stretch.  It was a tough situation playing in Ole Miss' first game in the new arena, but Bama had this game under control for a while and gave it away.

This what CAJ will get fixed in his work in practice. It sounds like they might be getting a little bit weak legged toward the end. RTR!

I think Bama is missing Ingram, and Hale is < 100%.  

Like you guys said, it was hard playing Ole Miss in their new arena (very nice looking by the way).

I've kept my expectations in check -- coach has done wonders, but it still has to  be considered a "rebuilding year." 

And at least there's a big football game on Monday.    ;)

It was a good game, and Alabama played well to pull ahead just before halftime.  That run of points was aided by woeful free-throw shooting by Ole Miss, good defense, and hitting several 3-point shots.

The 3 pointers dried up during the second half, as did our inside game.  But good play kept Bama alive until game's end, despite lots of turnovers.

Yes, it is a nice new arena: The Pavilion.  It's located right in front of the football field west entrance; RIGHT against the stadium.  Not the best location, but convenient for those walking from across campus.  Parking is nonexistent, unless you are among the chosen few who have passes for the new parking garage adjacent to The Pavilion.  Gone is that ugly, cramped Tadd Pad :yuck: .

We could have won this game but let it slip away in the second half. It is hard to win if you are beat rebounding, free throw points, turnovers and your front line is in foul trouble. There were positives. We play hard and are solid on defense. That alone will keep you in a lot of games. I was surprised CAJ did not try some zone defense to help the big guys stay out of foul trouble. Ole Miss is a good three point shooting zone breaking team and I guess that played into his decision.

The loss of Dazon Ingram early in the season has really hurt CAJ options on offense. IMO we would be one of the better teams in the league with him. We are only average with Coleman as our floor general.

Bring on Kentucky!  :o
