Title: Conference Realignment: Big 12 Expansion and Why UConn has a Shot Post by: Marshal Dillon on January 04, 2016, 07:47:35 PM Well, the Big 12 will certainly improve the quality of their football schedule playing a powerhouse like UCONN.
   Quote Since the last round of conference realignment left UConn in the American Athletic Conference, speculation has run rampant about the long-term future of the Husky athletic department. Would it decline as revenue lagged behind the "Power-5" conferences? Should the basketball team find a way to move to the Big East? When will the ACC/Big Ten/SEC/Big 12 come calling? http://www.theuconnblog.com/2016/1/4/10682504/on-potential-big-12-expansion-and-what-it-would-mean-for-uconn Title: Re: Conference Realignment: Big 12 Expansion and Why UConn has a Shot Post by: McBaman on January 04, 2016, 07:57:33 PM Why wouldn't they look at Houston and Cincinnati? Two good TV markets. Maybe they don't want another team from Texas in the conf.

I have to believe Houston has the inside track on joining the Big 12 due to their location, population, & their superior program compared to UCONN or Cincinnati. BYU would be a good fit, too.

This link is a UConn blog; I'd be surprised if the Big12 went to that tiny state. |
