Quote
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Barrett Jones has worn tape around his right hand in recent practices indicating a potential issue.

The Tide's starting offensive left tackle was asked about it Monday.

"My hand's great," Jones said smiling. "Never been better."

Follow up question: Why was it bandaged up?

"Just doing some routine maintenance work on the hand," Jones said. "It'll be fine. It really is fine. I'll take it out of my pocket (he did, and proceeded to show it off to a group of reporters). It feels good."

"I'm good," Hightower said Monday. "I'm still going to wear a little protective padding over the top of it. Not really as much pain, there's just a little swelling, a little scar tissue. Not anything serious.

"...It was kind of like the injury Julio (Jones) had last year. It wasn't as bad."

In reality, we've been lucky with injuries during preseason this year.  Lots of teams have lost starters to injuries already.  Ours all came before the practices began.

That is half the battle. Keeping injuries down. We were lucky in 1992, and 2009, except for Hightower's knee. Mt. Cody missed afew games.
