Florida will have a scheme to limit Henry, just as Tennessee did, and just as Mississippi State did.  Henry will be hard pressed to get his 179 yards to break the record.

But, our defense should limit Florida's inept offense.  So Derrick could get LOTS of carries, maybe 35-40.

Tough call.

HENRY GETS 181 YARDS!

Henry is in ELITE company with Bo Jackson and Hershel Walker in that all three are the only SEC players to amass four 200+ yard games in one season.  I predict he will stand alone after this Saturday as the only SEC RB to have five 200+ yard games in one season... Leornard 4nette put 180 yards and 2 TD's on the Gators and IMO, King Henry is even better plus he is running behind a better OL.  I think he might just put up his, and Bama's first 300 yard rushing game...

Florida's D is too good. I agree that with their inept offense that Henry could get a lot of carries, but I would predict he only gets 100-125 yds.

Hard to say.  Florida's D is good.  Florida's offense is terrible and Bama's defense is elite.  I see Bama ending up with a huge time of possession advantage, and Henry may wear them down by the 2nd half.  If he can break at least one long run I think he's got a good shot at it.

And yet he still got 204 against Mississippi State.  UF does have a great defense, but they will wear out by the 4th quarter after their offense goes 3 and out all game long.

I am going with 203, which I believe would put him exactly at 2000 yards for the season.

The Gators rushing D is more on line with LSU.  MSU & UT are not really good gauges, ranked 67 and 85.

The past two games their D has given up rushing yards, heck, even Vandy put up yards.

Against UF, 4nette put up 180 yards and two TD's.  Against LSU Henry put up 210 yards and three TD's.  So, if you are going to use those as a gauge to make a guess for what Henry will do against the Gators then I would have to say my earlier guess may be spot on... ;)

I do not think CNS is interested in getting the record. He wants to win the game. If possible he will limit Henry's carries to under 25. UF has a good front like LSU and Miss St. If Henry gets to the second level he could bust some long runs and get his yards. My guess is 140.

McCaffrey had a great year. He should be invited to New York. Heisman voters need to remember they do not play defense on the West Coast. NCAA stats show the highest rated PAC 12/14 defense is Washington at #28. They only have three defenses in the top 50. Utah at #41 and Stanford at #50. The SEC has 9 teams in the top 50 with 4 of these in the top 10.

Historically the Heisman goes to the best player on the best team provided you have the stats to support. This year that player is Derrick Henry.

I just watched "College Football Sunday" and they all think that Herny should win it. They did not mention the reasons you did, but I think they agree. I feel better now!

Henry had 189 yds and broke the record by 95 yards. Henry has 1986 rushing yds to Walker's 1891. The math in the thread title is incorrect.

Walker played less games but had more carries. He had 385 carries to Henry's 339. Henry has a 5.9 yd per carry to Walker's 4.9.

Darren McFadden is 3rd with 1830 yds (5.6 per carry). Bo Jackson is 4th with 1786 yds and an impressive 6.4 yds per carry.

Would be hard not to win the Heisman with that resume'.

I think Henry should receive the Heisman.  We'll see what the fickle voters do.

Three top contenders all had big games on Saturday.

Henry's stats get more impressive when you look at the games he had his best numbers. His stats were not padded in the easy games. His best games were against the better teams when we needed him most.
