"They were stacking the box, obviously," Kelly said. "They didn't want to sit and play safe defense against us. They knew how that would have gone. But they did a great job kinda stunting and throwing us off our game." Henry got just six carries in the first quarter as quarterback Jake Coker checked to passing plays when there were more tacklers than blockers in the box. Kelly said it was frustrating on the sideline after a few three-and-out possessions. Eventually it had to test the middle, which was when Henry broke his first big one. The 74-yard score went through the teeth of the Bulldog front push Alabama up 21-3 with 5:10 left in the first half... Frustrating when fans scream to "RUN, RUN, RUN" when anyone who knows football can see 4 down linemen and 4 LBs, all within 2 yards of the defensive line. We dropped passes early, which really hurt. And we'll miss Drake against the Aubs, who will also stack the line. Time to make adjustments! If he can hold on to the ball, he could be huge in our last games. |
