This is the highest proportion compared with the other 10 metro areas in Alabama, where 12.2% of adults report such heavy drinking habits. More than 26% of all driving deaths in the Auburn area are associated with alcohol consumption. Unlike most of the metro areas on this list, this percentage was actually lower than the national proportion of 31%.
