The Alabama men's basketball team cruised to an 87-65 win over Trevecca Nazarene in the team's lone exhibition game on Friday, Nov. 6 at Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide was good on 30 of its 58 shots from the floor. The defense was also disruptive, grabbing a total of 11 steals on the night.

"It was a pretty good night for us tonight," head coach Avery Johnson said. "Our guys were very anxious to get out on the floor and play in front of their home crowd. There was pretty good energy in the building tonight for an exhibition game. So, I want to thank everybody who came out tonight to support the team."

If you guys saw this exhib...how different in style, tempo, etc. did the team look vs. last year?

I don't remember any Bama team ever playing like the tempo of this team. About the only time they slow down is to shoot free throws. There's some tease in that remark but they are playing faster than I can ever remember and that goes back to 1969. Their playing style is like the professionals, they bring the ball down and if you have an open shot you take it if you aren't shooting the ball you go to the boards for the rebound and then get back on defense. There is a lot of ability on this team this year and I think as they play more games their skills will really hone up, especially their shooting. Also, don't think that CAJ isn't coaching during the game, he's not a bit afraid to call out a player on the floor when they screw up. Very entertaining.

Completely different than CAG's style of coaching. Up tempo, faster pace creating continuity on offense. I was impressed and that was only an exhibition game. As Jamos hinted at though, they do need to work on free throws.
