Title: *** Thursday Night Games ***
Post by: Catch Prothro on November 05, 2015, 05:28:17 PM
Tonight we have:

Baylor v. Kansas State
Mississippi State v. Missouri

Who you got?

The Baylor game is a tough pick I think, with a true freshman QB getting his first start on the road at K.State on a Thursday night.  The spread is 17.5 points, and K. State lost by a combined 9 points against TCU and OK State.   Normally I would go with the home team in this situation.  But I got Baylor tonight, because: (1) I've gotten burned a few times already this season picking against a backup QB; (2) Kansas State fell apart in its last two games; and (3) Baylor is going to run up the score if they can to "make a statement."

More importantly, though, 2 has picked Baylor.   :lol2: :worship:

Mrs. CP got her picks in on time this week.

The other game didn't seem like a tough pick to me.

I got State over an anemic Missouri team. Got K State with a Baylor frosh QB. Don't think Baylor can cover.  8)

Freshman Baylor QB looks cool as a cucumber.

Baylor up 14-7

Game is an interesting contrast in styles.  Baylor is scoring quickly, making KS's defense appear non-existent.  KSt is clock running, methodical.  KSt converted two 4th downs on their first TD drive.  Baylor hasn't seen third down yet.

KSt having success running the ball against Baylor.  All I can think is, if Bama played Baylor, we would steal their lunch money and eat their lunch.  If they can't stop KSt, no way could they stop a team like Bama or LSU.

By the way, game is on FS1 (FoxSports1), DTV 219.  I haven't watched a game on this channel all season; last year there were a bunch.  Maybe now that the Big12 teams are playing each other, we'll see more games on FS1.

Missouri can't score so Misses State should win easily. Baylor starting a true freshman QB makes the game more interesting.

Browns v. Bengals is kicking off.  Bengals are undefeated.  Browns have lost 3 straight.  Any Bama players  to watch?

Baylor drive stalls after a holding penalty and Baylor punts.  Still up 14-7

Mizzou is more of a muffin top than a whole cupcake.  Their defense is pretty good; their offense has been completely inept since Matt Mauk got in trouble.

It is pouring rain in Missouri.  Game is turning sloppy.  Advantage Mizzou, apparently.

Mizzou scores a TD to cut the lead to 1 point.  MSSt 7 Mizzou 6

MSU won't get much practice because a large percentage of the team will be sick after playing in that down pour.

Tonight we have:

Baylor v. Kansas State
Mississippi State v. Missouri

The Baylor game is a tough pick I think....

The other game didn't seem like a tough pick to me.

Usually when I think that, I'm wrong.   :lol2:

Still early, but heavy rain will keep that Mizzou game low scoring.

INT Baylor.  Looks like he might be OOB.  Under review.

These announcers have been annoying, whining about Bama ranked #4.  What a bunch of Baylor homers.   :lol2:

INT ruling stands.  Baylor will run out the clock and win by 7.

Buh Bye.

The color commentator of the game sure got all upset about Bama being ranked over Baylor in the playoff rankings. I guess he knows even less about quality football teams than I first gave him credit for. ???

He was looking for controversy and ratings.

For certain.  If the Miss State team that played last night plays that way against us, we win by 21 points.  They were plodding, made LOTS of mistakes, and couldn't block.

BTW, their right tackle was injured during the game -- looked like a knee.

Watching Kansas State's "power rushing" game (which mostly were QB runs) go through the soft Baylor front 7, all I could think was, Bama would have a field day against that team.  Henry would have 250 yards and 4 TDs.   8)

I thought the same thing.

Our DB's would be tested with that QB they have.  Our D line would need to have him looking up at the stars most of the night.
