Title: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 05, 2015, 10:36:20 AM Strictly rumor, but this is interesting. Read link.
Quote Fran Tarkenton, the quarterback on Georgia's 1959 SEC Championship team who went on to a Hall of Fame career in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, is not afraid to speak his mind about his Bulldogs. On Tuesday, he offered up plenty of criticism of his former school's football program when he made an appearance on 680 The Fan in Atlanta. Quote “I think [Jeremy Pruitt] has come over and been very boisterous, been very loud,” Tarkenton said. “I think he's taken advantage of things over there. He personally has hired four of the assistant coaches over there including the weight guy. I'm not a great fan of Jeremy Pruitt. That has not been a good, workable solution.” http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/25364040/ex-georgia-qb-fran-tarkenton-rips-coaches-weve-got-troubles-in-our-program :dunno: Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: 2Stater on November 05, 2015, 10:46:29 AM I don't think their D is that bad. The O is so terrible, that they're not on the field long enough to give the D players a breather.

Post by: N.AL-Tider on November 05, 2015, 10:47:21 AM Quote You can find an example of that friction between Pruitt and the offensive staff in Pruitt's post-game comments following the Florida game. Pruitt noted that the defense gave up two big plays to the Gators and that was something they needed to fix, but also seemed to take a shot across the bow at the offense. Does he (Pruitt) not realise that a loss by 4 is still a loss? ???“Two plays. But those two plays count. We've gotta eliminate those plays,” Pruitt said following the loss. “We eliminate those plays, I don't know, we get beat 7-3.” Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? The gist of what I am reading is that Pruitt is overly disruptive & not a team player. :dunno: Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: Catch Prothro on November 05, 2015, 11:24:59 AM When a head coach's set is getting warm, the assistant coaches are the first to go. But hasn't Richt done that already? ;D
Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 05, 2015, 11:42:02 AM So much conjecture & it can't help that an influential former star QB & now prominent businessman is speaking publicly. Sounds like Richt has lost control.
 Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: ricky023 on November 05, 2015, 11:58:32 AM Could this be why CNS was not at all upset about his leaving Alabama? Or, could even be that he tried to be a CNS at other places that got him in trouble? RTR!
Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: McBaman on November 05, 2015, 12:11:51 PM OH MY....MARK RICHT HAS LOST CONTROL OF THE COACHING STAFF!
Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 05, 2015, 12:56:20 PM OH MY....MARK RICHT HAS LOST CONTROL OF THE COACHING STAFF! Shocking, isn't it. After 15 years, Richt might just be tired of the job. Georgia looked so flat in its' last game & that could be a sign of his displeasure. :stars: Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: Jamos on November 05, 2015, 02:35:58 PM I have never thought Mark Richt was a real good coach but a good coach maybe. I've stated before that he should have won some NCs with the quality of players that he has recruited over the years. When I say he, I mean him and his coaching staff. He always seems to lose a big game at the end of the season after a good start that has killed all of his chances at the big prize. He seems like a good, nice guy but the good guys don't always win.
Personally I think his teams have become very predictable which makes it easier for them to lose. The SEC is loaded with good defensive teams and this is what kills Georgia. I don't know who designs their offense, him or his OC, but they aren't very good. How many games would they have lost this year and last year without Chubb and they finally did lose him and it hasn't been pretty since. You never put all of your eggs in one basket and that seems to be his forte when he gets those good backs, he runs them to death and maybe it's because of the post season awards that causes that. In regards to what Tarkenton said about Pruitt doing all of that hiring, who permitted it to happen? Georgia is a team that has no sense of direction anymore and if I were the AD, I would clean house and start all over because their program is going nowhere except downward. That's why CNS doesn't let assistants speak during the season!
Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 05, 2015, 07:15:07 PM More info, mostly bad for Georgia.
Quote Reports surfaced on Thursday claiming that there is tension on the Georgia coaching staff, specifically between coach Mark Richt and defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. USA Today reported that "dysfunctional Georgia" could be "nearing big football changes," while ESPN's David Pollack -- a former Georgia Bulldog himself -- tweeted "it could be an interesting day in Athens today." Quote As for the relationship between Richt and Pruitt, USA Today reports that Pruitt will "almost certainly" not return in 2016, as the relationship between the two has "grown toxic." There's another report from FoxSports.com's Bruce Feldman that says there's "friction" that stems from "the old guard Bulldog staff versus the new guard regarding many of the changes" in how the program is run, with Pruitt being at the center of it. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/25364152/georgias-mark-richt-stands-behind-jeremy-pruitt-as-reports-swirl :popcorn2: Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: carl childers on November 07, 2015, 09:52:53 AM That is why you need someone at the top who runs things with an iron fist. This kind of stuff does not happen at Bama, and the reason why is Nick Saban.
Title: Re: Rumor Mill-Jeremy Pruitt Out at Georgia? Post by: carl childers on November 07, 2015, 09:55:10 AM BTW, does anybody think Saban would have to send out a tweet defending a coach, or anything about the FB program? Shows how dysfunctional things are in Athens.
