That would leave 3 spots for at large (SEC) teams. 4 SEC teams against the other 4 conference champions, that sounds about right.

I used to think that the schools made some money from the bowl games but I'm not so sure of that anymore as I have read where the schools actually lose money. :dunno:

The lower tier bowls host the first round, and then move on to the bigger bowls as you advance. Keep the garbage bowls for the 6-6 teams to have a pillow fight. Nobody cares about those bowls any way.

What if the champ finishes 10-3, 9-4, by beating a team that was 11-1 or 12-0 but had a bad game & lost in the championship game & finished 12-1, 11-2. A 9-4 team doesn't belong in the playoffs. I see really good teams getting knocked out of the playoff due to this method. I like a committee that has the flexibility to look at a team, the conference they belong to, and their SOS. :popcorn2: |
