Title: Playoff Selection Committee
Post by: SUPERCOACH on November 01, 2015, 05:05:36 PM
The committee will announce their first standings on Tuesday.  I predict LSU at #1 and Clemson at #2.  I can't wait to see Joey Galloway's take on why OSU is NOT #1.

:lol2:

Maybe, just maybe, Alabama will also be in the top 4.  Not that it matters, but it would be funny.  Vegas has us as a 7 point favorite over LSU and the committee seems to actually look at the teams and not the media hype.  The committee ends up being closer to Vegas than they are the polls.

Last year the first standings had 3 out of 4 teams from the SEC.  None of them actually made it into the playoff though, but that is another story.  2 of those 3 still had to play Bama, the other had to play LSU, and we all know how that turned out for them.

Will be interesting and entertaining. I doubt this time that it will be SEC top heavy, but it is still early. Still time for the committee to come to their senses.  :lol2:

I thought I would add this former post since your thread title is more appropriate. Possible replacements for Pat Haden.

I would look at the following for the CFP:

Paul Finebaum-extremely pragmatic & calls it like he sees it
Calvin Hill-former Cowboys RB & Yale grad with no dog in fight
Jerry Rice-NFL WR great & Miss. Valley State grad-no dog
Howie Long-NFL great & Villanova grad-no dog
Ed Marinaro-Cornell RB great & actor-no dog
Brett Favre-All Pro QB Legend & Southern Miss grad-no dog
Mike Mayweather-Army All American RB 1990-no dog
Holly Rowe-Sports reporter & football junkie & Utah grad

This is just a few ideas & I'm trying to get away from any possible homers like former players of any major conference, AD's, or others. There are plenty of former players, coaches, sports reporters/broadcasters who are not affiliated with a major conference or team.

Great list MD, though Brett may not quite have the horsepower under the hood compared to the rest of the committee. And though I agree about Paul F., that would cause a flap like we have not seen in our lifetimes.
