Title: Re: Frank Beamer stepping down: Post by: 2Stater on November 01, 2015, 01:32:01 PM Just saw this over at Woolly. It's time. Recruits can't count on him being there for their duration. He will leave a good legacy at Va Tech.

He will leave a good legacy at Va Tech. Plus, he's not winning that much anymore. He's lost 5 games or more each season in the last 4 years. The problem is, they will struggle to find a coach of such previous ability but will expect to get a Saban quality coach. That's fandom-think.   Title: Re: Frank Beamer stepping down: Post by: 2Stater on November 01, 2015, 02:00:52 PM Just saw this over at Woolly. It's time. But with all the vacancies in college football out there, the pickins may be slim for them. I really think they may chose Bud Foster, long time DC there. Title: Re: Frank Beamer stepping down: Post by: 2Stater on November 01, 2015, 02:48:10 PM Just saw this over at Woolly. I wonder if there is some unannounced "coach in waiting" plan in pacle for him. Title: Re: Frank Beamer stepping down: Post by: hscoach on November 01, 2015, 02:51:57 PM I always thought he ran a good program and got a lot out of his players. Every time you played VT you had to be weary of their special teams.
Title: Re: Frank Beamer stepping down: Post by: ricky023 on November 01, 2015, 03:46:10 PM The last of the era of great college football coaches. It is officially a new breed now. I don't put David Cutcliff in that group because he has not been a great head coach for a long period. He is a great QB and offensive coach though. God Bless Coach Frank Beamer. RTR!

You don't see too many humble, gentlemanly coaches like Frank Beamer any more. Always hard to follow/succeed a beloved coach. Title: Re: Frank Beamer stepping down: Post by: carl childers on November 01, 2015, 04:45:04 PM LOT of big jobs out there. We will lose at least 2 coaches.

This is the year I think Kirby goes. Kiffin is a given. Still a lot of bad karma out there on him. ??? Title: Re: Frank Beamer stepping down: Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 01, 2015, 08:59:14 PM Head coaching vacancies open now:
Illinois USC Va. Tech North Texas Hawaii Maryland So. Carolina Miami Minnesota Possible vacancies: Iowa State Nebraska Indiana Georgia??? W. Virginia Of course, we will have a domino affect if a HC leaves for another school, like Stoops at Kentucky to Miami. :popcorn2: Title: Re: Frank Beamer stepping down: Post by: Chechem on November 02, 2015, 05:18:35 AM Bye, Frank.
