There’s no mistaking Michael Williams for Brad Smelley.  At 6-foot-6, 269 pounds, Williams could pass for a left tackle, while his fellow Alabama tight end stands 6-3 and weighs 229. Together, they play two important, yet fairly different roles in a pro-style Tide offense that values tight end contributions.

The highlight came in the second quarter against Florida when receiver Marquis Maze threw Williams his first and only touchdown pass of his career. The 19-yard fade put the Tide up 24-0 in the highly anticipated rematch of the previous two SEC title games.

If I remember correct. That play was out of the "Wildcat". I don't think they used that play again last year.

We get "insight" about an expanding role for the tight end(s) every preseason.
