Title: a few passing stats: Post by: hscoach on October 04, 2015, 06:27:32 PM Bama's secondary, I believe is vastly improved. Here are some stats:
Opponents has thrown the ball 189 times against Bama. They have completed 98. This breaks down to 52%. Bama has given up 947 yard passing from those 98 completions which equates to 9.7 yards per pass reception. If you take away the two flukes vs OM, and I know they count, that leaves 808 yards from receptions with equates to an 8.4 yards per reception. If you look at the average per pass play then you have 189 attempts for 947 yards which equates to 5 yards per reception. Now you also add in the 6 interceptions so far this year. I thought they played about as good as they can play in the second quarter last night. Just maybe things are starting to make sense to some of the players and that's making the whole unit look better now. Hopefully we have something to look forward to out of the secondary in the games ahead.

The one thing that has hurt our defense the last few years is as soon as they become a great defense you have to start over with Freshmen and retrain them. RTR!

And in open field they are tackling well. Saves a lot of yards. |
