Title: Article About Braves Catcher McCann Still Coping with Accidental Foul Ball
Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 10, 2011, 11:16:48 AM

I was afraid this was going to get in his head. I hope the manager and McCann will be okay.

Thanks for the post (# when allowed again).

This is a tough situation for McCann.  He feels guilty and is indeed responsible, but at least it was an accident.  Sounds like the scene was gory and frightening, with possible long-term or permanent eye damage.  Add McCann (and of course Salazar) to your prayers.

That is sad. I will be praying for both, but McCann must know he had nothing to do with it. I hope he clears his mind. RTR!

I can't say that McCann was responsible. It's a game with a bat and a ball and high speed hits.  The dugout IS a dangerous place and there should be more protection but I can't say he is responsible for this. I hope for his sake that he can get past it and have a great year.
