I would say they have a huge lack of institutional control, that's been going on for a while now. But never fear, the TPD will be all over it.  :eyeroll:

Wow. Only 1 person to blame, Jimbo Fisher.

Quote
The state attorney's office in Tallahassee will issue a warrant for the arrest of Florida State running back Dalvin Cook, who is accused of punching a 21-year-old woman in the face several times during an argument outside a bar last month.

Quote
Meggs said Cook, a 19-year-old sophomore from Miami, will be charged with misdemeanor battery.

Underage drinking & from Miami, a toxic mix.

I wonder if this is why his wife left? He was teaching the players how to hit a woman and she was his bag to instruct on? RTR!

Here's a picture to let everyone know the Tallahassee PD is hard at work on the case right now.

"Will success spoil Jimbo Fisher?"

The most relevant thing I see is:
3rd team QB hits a woman in the face….dismissed from team.
1st team RB hits a woman in the face….suspended from team….for now.

The Florida State way.

Updated ESPN story with some quotes from Jimbo.  I read somewhere that he had 'banned' players from going to bars, but I don't have a link.  If that's true....good luck enforcing that rule.

This quote sounds about right for kids these days...

Quote
"They kept telling me they were football players," the woman said. "They kept telling me to Google them. They told me they were football players and they could buy me in two years."

More bad news for Cook & FSU. This guy is a real problem child. Since he rushed for 1,000 yards, FSU will fight to Jameis him.

Quote
Florida State running back Dalvin Cook was cited for mistreating three chained-up pit bull puppies in July 2014, according to a City of Tallahassee citation report obtained by Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples. The report states that "the dogs were unable to move and the smaller puppies were choking" from a heavy chain that had been tied around their necks. The dogs were between approximately two and eight months old.

Cook was recently charged with misdemeanor battery after allegedly punching a 21-year-old woman in the face in a bar. He turned himself in to Leon County jail over the weekend.

Fisher is becoming fastly to me as a very questionable person of concern about young men? He seems to be out to win and have the big name rather than educate players. I remember when CNS came in and cleaned house and did not give in to win at all cost and built a national Champion of his own. When you go to the hood to get people you got to teach about glamour and riches and what is expected, and YES, I don't care who the coach is btw. JMHO! RTR!

It's called winning at all costs. This means you recruit good players with bad character, such as Oklahoma in the 70's & 80's under Switzer and the Miami Hurricanes in the 80's & 90's. Fisher was feeling the heat at FSU so he recruited talented thugs.

The thing I find amazing is that he can cordinate those talented thugs into playing together as a team as well as they do... Most I've seen in the past thought they were "it" and should be treated like a star...without the rehearsal...

When you build your house on sand, beware because it is only a matter of time before the house begins to tumble. ;)

FSU Pres sounding tough.

I can't ever remember a univ pres meeting with a football team over an incident like this.  To me, this is effectively a reprimand for Jimbo, i.e. his talking to the team was not seen as sufficient.

Yep, sounds like the jig is up for the players AND coaches. The President isn't going to take anymore abuse from the media, alumni, FSU professors, & sports shows on ESPN like Finebaum, Mike & Mike, etc. for the athletic department. Time will tell.
