Keep in mind that no defending national champion has ever won fewer than eight games since the origin of the BCS in 1998, so forgive the Tigers if they feel slapped in the face any time they get wind of such modest expectations.

Right, they lost 16 starters including their QB and all their defensive playmakers. Sounds like the makng of an SEC title team to me.

Look how much trouble we are having replacing one Off Line Left Tackle position. They have to replace 16 starters, 4 of those are on the Off Line. New QB, new Off Line, 16 new starters, in the SEC. It is going to be a long year for the boogers.

I'd certainly be shocked if they win 9 games.  I'd be surprised with 8.

I see black bears?  and the boogs fighting it out for 5th in the west.

Well I ain't worried about those guys. I think there is some payback that needs to be made. RTR!

We will have the boogs right where we want them. 5-7. 5 returining starters. No bowl. No Hope and No Change.

Contrast the barn's outlook for defending to that of the 2010 Tide being preseason #1 thru the first 5 or 6 games of that season. Hard to argue that the barn NC was anything but a fluke, while Bama is building a dynasty.

I just read where the barn dismissed a reserve DL for team violations. That leaves them with 72 players on scholarship. That is 13 under the limit of 85. 45 are freshmen, redshirt freshmen or sophomores. The barn is in for a long year.

I hope so. From first to worst in the west.

They only thought their defense was a weakness last year. Its going to get positively gouged this year.

I hope they suck so bad that their practices show up as a loss at the end of the year ....  :P

But Chiznik is the next Bear Bryant so he can have 10 freshmen starters and still win the NC and even beat the Steelers, Packers, Bears, & Patriots if necessary. It must be nice to have such a great and proven coach.

Sadly, I've heard that Chiznik is not big on personal hygene.

If they win 50% of their games, I'll be shocked :)

Hard to say how many they will win. 7-8 wins? BCS momentum could carry them for a few wins.

6-6 maybe their best record because of their youth and inexperience.

Maybe they will get clipped on the chin this year.

If they are still an accredited university by the end of the season I will be shocked.  :D
