Title: "Pain free" Tiger playing this weekend Post by: 2Stater on August 03, 2011, 09:20:02 AM http://espn.go.com/golf/story/_/id/6826764/tiger-woods-keeps-emphasis-winning-wgc-bridgestone-invitational
Quote AKRON, Ohio -- There was no sign of any trauma or drama. Tiger Woods went through the usual pre-tournament steps -- without limping -- Tuesday morning at Firestone Country Club, playing a nine-hole practice round and then rocketing practice balls afterward on the driving range. It'll be interesting to see how he plays tomorrow. I think the layoff has been too long, I'm not expecting much from him. It will also seem weird not to see Stevie on the bag. Title: Re: "Pain free" Tiger playing this weekend Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on August 03, 2011, 09:31:02 AM He'll be a little rusty no doubt, but if his knee is healthy and pain free, I see him back in the thick of things by the end of the year.
Title: Re: "Pain free" Tiger playing this weekend Post by: 2Stater on August 03, 2011, 09:39:20 AM I think if he makes the cut this weekend, it would be a decent achievement for him.

Glad you decided to start posting. Welcome to the forum. Have some e-creds. #+ Title: Re: "Pain free" Tiger playing this weekend Post by: ricky023 on August 03, 2011, 10:03:52 AM I don't know if Tiger is mentally ready, as well as physically. I mean he has to be thinking about his children, and his wife he lost. His knee may be free of pain but one bad placement and it is all over. RTR!
Title: Re: "Pain free" Tiger playing this weekend Post by: Jamos on August 03, 2011, 10:33:29 AM Ricky, I don't know if that is the case with Woods, he's a rotten apple in the barrel. He has had too much of the good life handed to him at very young age and wasn't mature enough to handle it.

Title: Re: "Pain free" Tiger playing this weekend Post by: 2Stater on August 03, 2011, 01:50:02 PM So...who really cares? Like him or hate him, the game (or the ratings) ain't the same without him. Like him or hate him, the game (or the ratings) ain't the same without him. I lost a lot of respect for him as a man, but certainly enjoy watching what he does on the golf course. Just as someone else said, this will be the first non-major I've paid attention to this year. No cut for this tournament. It's the one he was +18 in last year. Might be why he decided to come back here. He's guaranteed 4 full rounds of golf. Should be a true test for his knee. It always seems anything that is highly reported or is considered news is somebody with more money a day than I draw in a month. lol, RTR!

I think he's pretty much done that. First athlete to earn a wealth of over a billion dollars. Woods surrounded himself with yes men. Good handlers wouldn't have let he pose for pictures like Vanity Fair during a divorce. Probably stopped some of the bad media coverage. 8) |
