Title: Rivals - Alabama Team Report
Post by: Terrie1959 on August 02, 2011, 07:25:56 AM
Alabama should be able to run the ball when it wishes, its veteran line fronting for potential All-American Trent Richardson at tailback. Its defense, particularly a strong back eight, will in theory be more consistent than it was last year.

If last year’s flaws are fixed, the worries about a new quarterback—either 2010 backup A.J. McCarron or redshirt freshman Phillip Sims—might not be enough to keep the Tide from rolling into New Orleans in January.

And if they do, don’t bet against a second BCS title in Saban’s five years.

Hey Terrie it is good to see you back posting. I would say if Fan support could do it, I think Alabama would be in New Orleans this week, however, it is a long hard way to get there. Just having an AA in the backfield is not enough, we have to play each play as if it is the last and losing by one point. Defense and Special teams are going to be a big help this year if they replace our young man who got hurt(Dee Hart). RTR!

S Mark Barron (pectoral muscle) should be 100 percent for the start of preseason drills in August. Barron sat out contact drills in the spring and said his injury, plus the team’s three-loss season, motivated him to spurn the NFL and return for his senior year

Just as CPB once said:  You gotta be the toughest SOB on the field for 6 seconds...and do that for the whole game.

I am so ready for the season!
