Title: Sydney Littlejohn throws second perfect game of season, third in program history Post by: Jamos on March 08, 2015, 06:39:27 PM Before this season, a total of one perfect game had been recorded by Alabama softball.

The game was a mercy rule game of 5 innings but still she didn't allow a base runner. The defense provided her with some good support and she did the rest. We've all seen some pretty good pitchers at Alabama, most recently Jackie Traina, and none of them ever accomplished this. She is only a sophomore and I think there could be more big accomplishments to come from her.
To compare her to some pitchers that we have seen in the past, she is not flashy or a hard thrower as Traina was. Sydney puts a lot of spin on the ball and has good control of her pitches, moving the ball in and out and up and down in the strike zone. She is human though and has had some tough times in some of the games but she is young and I think she will only get better. It is great for us fans too as it makes us extremely proud of and for her. Hopefully it isn't a double-edged sword though by building our level of optimism too high...
